Starbucks Corp. SBUX +0.88% plans to expand coffee delivery across the U.S. with UberEats as part of a broader strategy to try to reach more customers.

The coffee chain, which has been facing slowing traffic to its domestic coffee shops, on Thursday outlined its growth plans for investors gathered in New York.

You're an idiot if you pay extra to get an overpriced cup of coffee delivered

And now my favorite quote from the article

“We’re simplifying the business to accelerate the velocity of innovation,” Starbucks Chief Executive Kevin Johnson said in an interview Thursday.

Can you say buzzwords.

Starbucks to Offer Milkshake Delivery

FIFY

Most of the people to utilize that service are going to be the whales who order the caramel donut chocolate sprinkle frappuccino with whip.

Aint nobody gonna pay $4 and a delivery charge for water run through some very roasted beans.

Maybe it'll thin the lines of the hippos drinking child coffee.

I can’t tell you how many times my wife will make me take her and I want a cup of regular coffee.. I’m always told it will take 5 minutes or so to brew it, how in the hell does a coffee house not have regular coffee?

Gotta counteract the loss of foot traffic due to open bathrooms, open wifi, "all are customers", etc etc etc.

I guess you never use Grubhub/favor/any delivery app/service because you can say the same about any of them. You’re paying for the convenience factor.

Crazy how ubereats has picked up. Theres a mcdonalds a few blocks away. Whenever I'm to lazy I just head there to pick something up (food sux and wish it were something, but it is what it is). Anyway, theres alway at least one ubereats (grubhub sometimes) order when I'm there. Lots of apts in the area though so works.

I guess starbucks people dont care for how hot it is if it's delivered? My mom is a nazi about how hot her coffee is. If a waitress puts down a cup of coffee in front of her, and I dont see steam coming up I know my lunch is screwed as she'll send that shite back and/or complain about how bad it is. Worse was a fancy "organic" place that said they didnt have a microwave to put it in.

This is promising development that, moving forward, will gain traction in the market.

Gotta love it:

Liberals - "We need to stop global warming, stop greenhouse gas emissions, we emit way too much carbon dioxide"

Also Liberals - "Heck yeah I want to make somebody drive a 10 mile round trip in 3000 lb car hauling only a 16 oz cup of coffee!!"
