Full disclosure: I’ve been taking mushrooms
Let’s say it’s 178 * 11
Answer:
1. Right digit of top number always same = 8
2. Next digit is always the right digit of the right two numbers added together = 7+8 = 15 = 5.
3. If the answer to 2 above is 10 or greater carry the one to the addition of the left two digits = 1+7 (+ carried 1 from the 15 answer in point 2 above) = 9
4. Since the answer from point 3 is less than 10 you don’t have to carry one for final digit so it’s just the left digit of the original top number = 1
Answer: 1,958
Two digits is easier and well known
78 * 11
1. Left number (plus carry if from adding 7+8) = 7 + 1
2. Middle number right number from 7+8 = 15 = 5
3. Right number = 8
Answer: 858
For two digit numbers under 55 like 10-54
54 * 11
1. Left number + sum of digits + right number
2. 5 + (5+4) + 4
Answer: 594

It sounds like you’ve contracted autism
Did you get a flu shot recently?

I can do it faster.
“Hey Siri. What’s 736 times 11?”
Siri reply’s “8096”

I just found out that we have calculators.

This is faster than a calculator with a touch of practice.

And this why common core is better. Wtf is this shite?

Or
178 x 11
Add zero to end of 178
1780
Add 178 to 1780
= 1958
Two steps better than four???
178 x 11
Add zero to end of 178
1780
Add 178 to 1780
= 1958
Two steps better than four???

You literally just did normal multiplication that has always been taught prior to common core. So no... you didn't figure anything out.

You’re doing the same thing. It’s not two steps. It’s the exact same approach I’m just showing the linear mathematical pattern

That's really awesome man. Now you just have to memorize the algorithm for every number
Posted on 12/8/18 at 10:51 am to theunknownknight
Or add a zero to the end and add the number?
178*11
= 1780 + 178 = 1958
178*11
= 1780 + 178 = 1958

Much faster and less steps than what you just posted.

No apostrophe in boobs, but they do come with the occasional period.

You just changed my life. Thanks

Or you can make it easier Nd just do (X x 10)+x= X x 11
