why is that?

Drago's chargrilled are the best. Everything else there is pretty shitty though.

If I had to guess, I would say it had to do with their setup. They've basically built their whole operation around this dish. They have huge high heat grills and a pretty fine tuned process for getting out the dish. Seems mostly an afterthought at other places.
I love the downvoter. Gettin It!

Yeah, that's OK, means someone is paying attention.
I'd agree with that. I have had some other places that were pretty good too though.
Maybe just me but sometimes Dragos has too much smoke.

I thought so too... until I tried them at Cochon. What sets Cochon apart from others in my opinion is the ingredients.
Drago’s uses butter, garlic, salt?, black pepper, 2 kinds of cheese, oregano?, and parsley.
Cochon uses butter, garlic, anchovy, lemon zest, lemon juice, garlic chili sauce, crushed red pepper flakes, cayenne, and salt.
In my opinion, Drago’s comes across as something you could do on your backyard grill. But Cochon’s, though it obviously could also be done on a backyard grill, just tastes like it was prepared by a professional chef.

Just get them wherever you are, they’re all pretty much the same.

The ones who keep the cheese to a minimum if adding any at all. Sometimes you get a damn layer of cheese over the oyster and its now stuck to the damn shell. I always tell places to hold the cheese.
As ridiculous as it sounds the best chargrilled oysters I've ever had were in Jackson, MS. Doesn't make sense right? The restaurant Saltine had some that topped the oyster with white bbq sauce and then chargrilled them. They were awesome.

No. Just no.

Sometimes I don't want a newly thought out re-imagined version of ______...I want the classic. Charbroiled oysters are one of those times.

Have you started trolling lately or something?

It’s a so-so app, that’s at damn near every restaurant, just get the damn chargrilled wherever you end up and go on with life. It’s not a troll.

Yeah I guess.
Like that time I have ordered it from a few places and you could tell they were just stuck in an oven for a while and were bad.
Or the time a restaurant brought them out and the cheese was hardly melted and the oyster was Luke warm.
