However, Orgeron is not going anywhere after next year. Sorry to disappoint you. Miles was here long enough to have made changes, which he promised but never fulfilled. Les Miles' stubbornness got him fired, not necessarily his won/loss record. If LSU's offense falters next year and "O" doesn't make changes to staff, philosophy, or both, then he'll be in warm water.

Miles's fate was sealed when he promised to deliver a competent offense the summer leading up to 2016 and he didn't.

O made the same promise when he was hired. I have a feeling the boosters are going to get restless if this offense doesn't improve. And given that O is on his second OC in so many years, the "blame it on my OC" excuse is starting to wear thin.

I guess we'll see how committed the brass at LSU is to winning if we win 9 games again next year.

LSU -- always Next Year U as of late.

I do not disagree with this, but don't believe he will be let go after next season. However, he'd better make legitimate changes for 2020; he's apparently not going to make them for 2019.

they should win 11 games

Agreed, no reason not to win at least 11 regular season games. At this point O has the following going for him in 2019:

- Will be in his third year, fourth year if you include the interim stint

- Will have signed three classes and been responsible for the fourth class as recruiting coordinator

- Will have his second year starting QB in Joe Burrow

- Will have his second year (or third if you count interim stint) with his choice of OC, Slinger

- Will have a top flight DC in Dave Aranda

- Will have a very favorable schedule

- Will be returning a plethora of veteran players

All of this is true. Now we just need Alleva on record on what his expectations are, so we'll know if next year is a success or not.

Same people saying we should win 11 games next year will also be here next year making 1000 excuses as to why we didn’t win that many games and how we EXCEEDED expectations

Not me, last offseason I said that O should go 10-2 with no excuses. This year was an abject failure. I don't hold O to the lowered expectations of his ne'er-do-well supporters.

This is so stupid. Seriously stupid.

While Ed waits on his guy the talent continues to dwindle.

I was concerned coming into the season. I didn't know what to expect of this team.

UF sucked. We should not have lost that game, but after UGA, this team showed they could do it. Everything came together for an old fashioned arse whooping.

And what happened? Our annual shite the bed against Bama followed up with the post-Bama collapse culminating with that abortion of a gameplan against aggy.

This coaching staff gets no more passes from me. They either win 11+ next season, or it's clear they aren't the answer. The stars cannot align anymore perfectly than they are for next year.

Why would LSU fire a coach who went 11-1

Texas will be better, UF, will be better, TAMU will be better, Bama will be better, but you expect to go 11-1 just because LSU gains experience and two good freshman backs?

Remember when LSU hired O with the wink wink promise that Kiffin would be the offensive coordinator.

And O knew Kiffin was never coming, all that was was Kiffin doing a solid for his old buddy and letting him float his name out there.

I'm sure a lot of HC's want him

How long does Kiffin want to be shacked up in that second rate school?

He's single and gets to slay poon in Boca Raton. What a shitty life.

Why would he leave and go backwards? He is a head coach.

Although I agree with most of what you said, Kliff Kingsbury was the HC at Texas Tech and just got hired as OC at USC...

Kingsbury got fired from TT. He would not have left TT on his own to become the OC at USC. That's a big, big difference.

Texas is very overated, you will see that in the bowl game
quote:

UF, will be better,
they will be going through a QB controversy and they lose many from their front 7.
quote:

TAMU will be better
Yes they will, this will be out toughest winnable game next year and should have many implications to it, like say CFP riding on it... it will also be a huge revenge game... but they also lose much of their DL as well.
quote:

Bama will be better
i think they stay about the same or go down slightly, they lose much of their OLine and DL (not that it matters, they just reload) so this is the loss.

the point is, our O/D-Lines should be out strengths next year with all but one back... a year older, a year stronger and year faster... the lines next year make or break us.. plus two guys that were suspended might also make their returns... one at LT and one that beat out phillips at the other LB spot... the biggest concern i have is if we lose fulton, he is the key on defense, he will be the other lock down corner and could be a 1st round draft pick if he returns... 3rd round if he leaves now... you get fulton back with stingly on the other side, klavon back, two really good LB's with JAcoby stevens moving in. delpit/Monroe/Joesph at Safetys you have a very talented and multiple defense with an offense that returns almost everyone... look for Chasen hines to move back to DT with Kardell moving in... Chasen and Tyler shelvin will be immovable in the middle...

You do realize that Kiffin signed a 10 year contract after 2017? He isn't leaving his own gig with at that time would be 8 years left on his contract to be the OC at LSU or anywhere else. He isn't getting fired with that kind of contract either.

Keeping an offensive coordinator under the fingers crossed scenario that a hc gets fired and you can hopefully convince them to come coach your offense, even after that very same person turned you down to take less money and coach a shitty program instead, is a really bad strategy and I pray to God that Coach O wouldn't be that retarded.
