it's because O has his eye on Kiffin. If Kiffin leaves or is let go after next year, he'll be the new LSU OC. Book it. It's been the hire he's wanted to make from the beginning.

Why would he leave and go backwards? He is a head coach. If it was about money he would have taken the OC gig instead of FAU job from the get go.

And why in the world would he be let go?

Since Briles left, he's had a rough season. They went from 11-3 to 5-7. It will depend on what kind of season he has next year. I'm just saying keep an eye out for it.

... there's a decent chance LSU falters and LSU hires a new head coach next year.

That's very possible, too. I'm just saying depending on next year. both with Kiffin and O. i think if we win 10 games, ed o isn't going anywhere. and i think if Kiffin has another bad year, he'll be here. a lot of maybe's we'll see what happens.

You do realize Kiffen is at FA friggan U? Noway they get rid of the biggest name HC they could get and noway he takes a step backwards to be an OC

You guys must stop doing this to yourselves.

Yeah, you might be right. But god damn thats a big drop of after Briles left. How good is Kiffin as a HC? I don't know man.

I don't know either, but I can almost guarantee you nothing short of 0-12, with some big time drama, will get him fired from FAU after next season.

When is there not drama with Kiffin, LOL

Seriously though, I really do think O wants Kiffin still. How long does Kiffin want to be shacked up in that second rate school? Maybe he wants to be in the limelight again. Nothing better that to face off against his old boss. Who knows. But I would welcome the hire.

Do you realize how much they sucked at football before Lane this past year was still considered a success not a failure

There’s a chance but I wouldn’t say a decent chance. Nothing O has done so far lends me to believe we have a 6-6 or 5-7 season coming next year which is what it would take to get O fired. I’m not saying I agree with that but I am saying that is what it would take.

If SE comes back next year, I'm not convinced O survives his 3rd season.

Unless something miraculous happens with the offense (we've heard that story before), next year's schedule isn't exactly a cake walk having to go to Texas, Bama, and State.

On top of that, A&M and Florida should both be improved with Fisher and Mullen going into year 2.

Breh...

If Kiffin wanted to come to LSU for more money, he would have done so last year. We'd have prolly paid him $1.5-2mm/yr.

If all he wanted was more money, we'd have gotten him instead of Ensminger last year. From HC at a small division 2 school, to OC at a Top 10 P5 school is assuredly greater than a lateral move... But Kiffin wants to be a HC, not an OC working for a shrimp boat captain.

SE is here because O can change the play call. Not sure why this is still up for debate.

There are like 103 OC's better than LSU's right now.

I guess stranger things have happened, but I don't see this happening. I've resigned myself to the fact that E will be OC next year.
