Just saw John Kennedy at MSY

I told him I wanted him to run for Governor. He said "It was a hard decision but I can't do both jobs".
He was pleasant enough, though most people didn't recognize him.
I told him I understood but that he should reconsider and run for Governor.
I'm no Kennedy fan but I loathe JBE and his toady Jay.

I would rather keep him in DC. The state legislature is a rolling clusterfrick of everyone wanting to be the head chef and no one wanting to be a cook. It won't be fixed with anything short of a new state constitution.

I respect his decision and logic, as well as his promise to throw his weight behind whoever gets the nod. Only way to beat Edwards is to get behind one candidate early and then divide and conquer where Edwards is weak. Alario will be a problem as well as multiple business people that claim to be GOP that support JBE.

Eh.... you'll continue to vote for the same people even if they flip flop from Senate to House and you'll blame the other guy
On the Constitution you will resist after talking heads tell you that doing it is a bad idea because the governor is a Democrat and the risk is too high
In short nothing would change and you will be here bitching and moaning for the next 4-5 year and you will continue to complain for that time. Chicken, amongst others will be happy

Kennedy waiting probably pushed Landry out the race. He fricking sucks and now we are going to have a knife fight in the party while JBE stays above the Frey. Kennedy deserves to get primaries and lose.

I said this last week. Kennedy's persona and skill set make him a better US Senator than Governor.
He would have been better than JBE, but LA gets the most good from him being in DC.

You don’t think Kennedy and Landry communicate?

Let's see. You're one of 100 US Senators and you're living in DC getting smoooozhed all day and night. When you finally get tired of basically being king shite all over this country, you can get some massive lobbyist gig that pays incredibly...
Or
You could come back here and try to fix a taxridden dump that literally grows government dependent babies every single day.
I doubt Johnny spent a whole lot of time thinking about it.

Jay? Who’s this?

JBE will be re-elected and it might well be in the Primary.

You should've let him really have it.
That fricker spent months clearing the field of potential GOP challengers only for him to flake out and not run instead. Piece of shite.
He created a vacuum that is going to be a disaster for the LA GOP and he should answer for that in his next election in 2022, especially if JBE wins again.

I wanted Kennedy to stay in Senate. Turned out the republicans in BR, are RINOs, especially when it came to taxes. Think they were all sucked in on not taking care of the poor and cutting higher ed , etc. Same shite as always.

Obviously not, Landry kept publicly telling Kennedy to declare and Kennedy said publicly for Landry to declare because he was taking his time. This was 2 weeks ago so no they don’t talk.

The morons on this board don’t understand the damage Kennedy did for not deciding a month or two back. I think Landry was going to run but Kennedy loved the spotlight and any candidate worth their salt wants to get in at least a year out.

Standing in the TSA line IS NOT the place to start anything.
He was minding his own business and nobody seemed to recognize him. I've had face to face conversations with the man and didn't really want to re-live that drama.

He’s better in DC. The GOP can’t afford to lose a seat in a special election.

I think he knew it would have been a very tough race which could have gone either way, and elected to stay in the Senate where he's guaranteed 5 more years and very likely, re-election.
