Politico - The Next Lincoln

quote:

Like Lincoln, O’Rourke is charismatic, tall, lanky, filled with energy, an accomplished public speaker and a natural campaigner. Like Lincoln, O’Rourke is a can-do underdog with an ability to command an audience and energize an army of followers. And finally—just like Lincoln—O’Rourke would begin his quest for the presidency (he says he’s not a candidate, but who believes that), following a Senate campaign that he actually lost. “I go back through our history and tick off the candidates for the presidency and I can’t think of anyone who became president after losing a Senate campaign,” Lincoln scholar Harold Holzer, the author of the groundbreaking Lincoln At Cooper Union, says. “There’s Lincoln and no one else. If Beto O’Rourke does it he would be the second. I have to say, that would be amazing.”
It's not about his positions, folks. It's about his charisma, his savoir fare, his fund raising prowess, and his army of swooning, man-bun wearing, soy drinking betas.

Style over substance, 2.0

Don't worry, Kamala Harris won't let Beto get in her way to become the first black female nominated.

Oh and never forget, his nickname only became "Beto" recently.

He's an Irishman named Robert who has been known as "Bob" his entire life.

If Trump and Obama could become President without any real experience, why not? I wouldn’t put anything past this stupid country.

That’s Dems for you. Appeal to emotion with powerful words. Accomplishments be damned.

I fully expect him to be a very strong contender for the Dem nomination.

Him. HRC. Biden. Sanders Harris. Warren are the top candidates. Those last 2 being a long shot.

I’ve never heard of a person of Irish descent that has a Hispanic nickname, that’s pretty much the only interesting thing about this douche.

Oh and the fleeing police while driving drunk thing. Good luck with all that in the primary, Robert.

And God help you if you’re ever head to head with President Trump

I hate to break it to ya bud but Trump wasn't elected because of his policy proposals either

He came within a few points of winning in Texas. Maybe Lyin Ted was just an awful candidate but if Bob O'Rourke can come that close in a supposedly deep red state he could make some real waves nationally.

Beto could absolutely win. Just look at all the gay boys that came out for him in Texas. He would kill it
