Tonight's game is more important to Dallas than NOLA. Not too much crow for a week 13 game. I'm not sure if I love the Saints or hate the Cowboys more though.

True. But you can find one in the AD office at LSU.

I wonder if he has another office for his vice-chancellor position.

From the LSU website:

"He joined the LSU family on April 4, 2008, and he was named vice chancellor in August of 2009, marking the first time in school history that the director of athletics has also held a vice chancellor position."

Definitely sounds like some of the morons on this message board, doesn't he? Ha Ha Ha !!!

BOS should give O a new contract. $4 mil per year for 5 years with a buyout of $1 mil per year left on contract.

I can’t attest to the lives of others on here and neither can you.

You’d probably be shocked at some of the accomplishments of many of the individuals on this board.

You haven't seen the texts.

I'm even. Pull for the Saints and whoever is playing the Cowboys.

When I lived in Dallas the folks we are giving shite to tonight told me they liked the Saints and Cowboys. I didn't buy that crap but they insisted a lot of Dallas people did. I went to the Ultimate Sports bar for a Saints game and Dallas happened to be playing at the same time.

I can tell you from experience that Saints fans don't like the Cowboys and no Cowboys fans like the Saints.

If we are winning games probably fine

If we are losing games than players will have other concerns.

Buyouts don’t matter if you’re not getting fired, alternatively, they also don’t matter if you are.

You’re gonna get fired buyout or not, and there is NO frickING WAY we should give O a buy out that is so insane we can’t fire him if he sucks the next 2 seasons.

And I say all of this while admitting O is on the right path to getting extended after next season.

Yea he said it's basically for recruiting purposes since you have to start recruiting hard for classes 3 years in the future.

frick this nonsense.

If you're as good as you claim to be at recruiting, go fricking recruit.

This is a ploy by coaches to secure more money/longer contracts.

Coach faux was a mistake and giving him an extension is an even bigger one.

Enjoy 8-9 win seasons without competing for division, conference or national titles for the duration of his contract.

I agree. That's why I said I hope it's basically just guaranteeing another year of his salary. Like I said, next December, his buyout is only $1.5 million and I think he's realistically got another 2 years minimum. So by extending him now, hopefully we're not guaranteeing anything more than years he's virtually assured of being here anyway.

That’s BS. If he’s winning then everyone knows he can stay as long as he wants. The only people who worry about that are mediocre or terrible coaches.

That’s not how recruiting works. Look, I hated the O hire, and still don’t like O being our coach AT ALL. But Saban, Jimbo and Kirby will really come and cherry pick Louisiana talent if O doesn’t have 4 years left on his contract. If it were me, and not Alleva, I’d tell O he can have the 4th year, but his buyout is going bye bye. But I’m not Alleva, and Joe is retarded when it comes to most things, especially coaches contracts.

ETA: If O is going to continue to be mediocre and only win 8-9 games a year(which will probably happen), the least he can do is leave some talent for the next coach.

He’s not going to lose anyone because he only has three years instead four. The three coaches above have plenty to sell and were beating him for players when he had 4-5 years on his contract, and it isn’t like anyone choosing LSU over that group is doing so because of Orgeron to begin with.

It is so damn funny that freaks on this message board will make shite up just to be miserable.

Let's see - LSU is ranked #10 in the country. Has the #4 recruiting class. Will have a lot of experience on both sides of the ball returning next season including the starting senior QB.

Oh, but Aranda is leaving after the bowl game. Yeah, that's it - I CAN and WILL be miserable. Aranda is leaving. Whew !!!

---------> The Point

Did I say that was going to happen? Did I say that I'm mad because it would happen?

No. It's a postulation based on likely scenarios based on terrible mismanagement of personnel by the AD. That's what I'm talking about. Any kind of raise or extension for O is a problem, Mostly because it's paints us into a corner with really problematic scenarios.

There is ZERO to be gained with an O extension, and a lot of problems that arise.

Plus, it's completely hypocritical to give O a raise. Completely.

It's insane to even have this discussion.

The circumstances don't warrant it.

Shouldn't a benefit of hiring someone like O mean that you can afford to let it all play it????

He has multiple years left, no reason to have this discussion. It's absurd. No one is coming for him and the recruiting angle is silly.

LSU isn't losing recruits simply bc of a possible coaching change for coach O IMHO.
