Courier is the one who gets into that. But, they have pretty much had Mary Carillo and Blake doing split screen on Toronto and Montreal, so not a lot of that talk.

It looks like the chicks are using Wilson balls. Not sure about the men, but I remember it was always a big deal that the Masters used Penn, but the U.S. Open is Wilson.

I seem to remember you making some good points about how weird Toronto was last year -- that it was excessively slow or something.

Cincy is usually considered one of the quickest, so I am sure we will get a lot of that chatter next week.

Something was way out of whack for sure. I think the consensus was that the balls were terrible. That was in Toronto, though, since they alternate every year.

Until last year I always thought Penn ATP balls were used at all Masters events, but I guess that's not the case.

"Penn ATP World Tour tennis balls are the #1 choice of ATP players and the official ball of the ATP World Tour, used in 4 out of the 5 largest tournaments in North America"

Canada

ETA: Wait US Open is the one that uses Wilson, so I don't know. Maybe I'll research a little.

roger and rafa are back on the atp player's council, with novak as president

looks like a power play for those 2, wouldn't be surprised to see novak quit his post soon

Bitching about surface homogeneity makes me wanna gouge an eye out with a dull fork while using my other hand to forcibly punch myself in the dick.....but ball homogeneity seems like a good idea. I think, at the very least, they should pick one ball for each surface and stick with it.

Also, for what it’s worth, in my experience, the Wilson us open balls are the best balls i’ve ever played with, and by a comfortable comfortable margin. Penn a distant second. Regular Wilson balls are pure dogshit, but the us open balls are amazeballs (pun not intended but recognized very quickly)

Needs dark shoes. I think I like the henley shirt.

Medvedev wrecked Thiem. KK beat Alex. Rafa/Fog should be fun.

Nice recovery from Rafa. Fog got foot issues and melted a bit.

Look at this doucher.

Stan and Grigs playing first round again next week. That must be five early round matches in the last year.

In big JJ Wolf news... I'm assuming being a OSU alumnus got JJ a wildcard entry into Cincinatti qualifying. This morning he took down Bublik 6-3,6-3!

eta: Faces #50 Carreno Busta in Q2

etaa:

So is there anything official about how tournaments, or who at the tournament, gets to award wildcards to?

RBA and Monf are just starting their quarterfinal now. The winner is going to be easy pickings for Rafa tonight.
