The combination of douchebaggery and talent on this court is off the charts.

Nick takes the 1st.

Whatever you do, don’t let Kyrgios break your serve.

Nick goes down double break point and then breaks out genius everywhere. Meanwhile, tsetse keeps blowing laces and can't find a functioning pair of shoes. WTF.

Even Leander Paes was working on Shitsy's shoes for some reason.

Did you see Kyrgios hit that changeup from a normal serve motion?

He went like 63 mph to get it to 40-0, then tse battled back to deuce. Nick holds. Let's have a breaka.

Courier talking about how a 16 time slam champ (Paes) is lacing shoes is

Double faulting on a 137 mph serve at *5-3 in the breaker is the most Kyrgios shite ever.

Nick appears hurt, but battled back nicely to win the first set breaker.

So DM is serving at 4-4, 40-30 and he hits a backhand that clips the tape. NK has plenty of time to hit a solid approach and win the point, but he decides to go behind the back and flubs it.

Just so dumb. If you make it deuce there, you never know what can happen. 2 points later you could be serving for the match.

What a difference 500 points can make. Kyrgios jumps up 25 spots from 52 to 27.

Wildest points ride this week seems to be Peter Gojowczyk. Seeded @ 2 in Washington Qualifying. He gets a bye then loses to #195 Donald Young. Still ends up getting a LL spot into the main draw and then makes a run to the SF's. Nets 160 points for the week and jumps 36 spots to 85 which should be plenty to go from qualifying at the Open to an easy main draw spot.

Holy crap I've never seen a guy make a main draw without winning a match in qualies. Didn't even think it was possible.

Could be a big week for Tommy Paul. He seems to be playing his best tennis and was even cracking some 100 mph forehands against Tsitsipas last week in Washington. Has a new career high ranking of 120. This week he has moved through qualifying at Montreal to the main draw and got a WC in the first round. If he were to get a win there and possibly play and beat an uninspired Fognini in the second round (for 90 points). He would jump his ranking up to right at #100, which is the magic spot for direct draws into the majors.

Somebody posted on Talk Tennis that Fog is out, but I am not seeing that.

How did I miss this?

quote:

During a three-set loss to Tennys Sandgren at tiny Court 14, the 10th-ranked Fognini referred in Italian to the "damned English" and said he wished "a bomb would explode at the club."
