So, I’m leaving the grocery store today, get in the truck, and am getting settled.

As I dig around my grocery bags for the soda I bought, then proceed to check my phone for any work emails or text that need attention, prior to driving....some a-hole starts laying on the horn.

Am I not allowed time parked? Is it uncoothe for me to not jump in and speed away?

FWIW, the parking lot was not over crowded and this person could’ve easily found another spot. Not sure why he had to have mine.

This is not the first time it’s happened and prob my biggest pet peeve. That and people who don’t stay in dedicated lanes and speed all through the parking lot diagonally.

That person sucks. You’re under no obligation to leave the spot.

Should have walked back into the store like you forgot something.

Or

Applied your brakes and shifted into reverse, only to wait there until they passed.

I sit in my parked car all the time for various reasons. Completely acceptable as far as I'm concerned. If the parking lot was completely packed, he'd have a better point.

He'd rather you do those things on the road and wreck his wife than make him wait an extra 20 seconds.

Because yours was closer and people are lazy.

Unless you were taking up one of the handicap spots or something, which I am sure you weren't.

I'd make sure I replied to all e-mails and texts, maybe finished off that soda, possibly browsed some Tigerdroppings, then maybe head back in to piss since I finished off the soda, then double check my e-mail in case someone replied, then I guess head out.

I'd say your spelling is uncouth but you're from Port Hudson so I'll allow it.

Parking lots are where patience goes to die. I'm a civil person, but when someone tries to leave the parking lot at the local grocery store using the entrance (a one way that has diagonal spaces for parking in that direction) or turns into the parking lot using the exit (same as the entrance, but opposite spaces), I become irrationally unglued.

Something about the sheer lack of consideration hits me in the loins.

I would have backed half way out, slowly, pulled back in then turned the engine off and sat in my car and had a little snack until the fricker moved on.

Pop your hood and get out like you're having car trouble.

As soon as they pull in to another parking spot, back out and make sure to give them a big, friendly wave as you drive away.

I just assume these people are looking at facebook or some other dumb shite on their phone. If its a big parking lot then no worries. If its a small one with limited spots then ill probably give your arse a little toot.

Had a guy pull the "let me sit here and check my phone" move last Friday AT THE GAS PUMP at a super busy (Costco) gas station AFTER he finished pumping his gas. There was a line of us waiting on the pump. Dude almost caught a beating from an angry mob.

I legitimately don't understand how the guy could be so self-absorbed as to pull that with a line of cars waiting on every pump.
