Ed Orgeron would never do this. Les Miles is a man of character and class.

That may be wishful thinking

If Kansas hires Les Miles, then this was a horrible deal for LSU as he just wasted another $1.5 million

I disagree. If they don’t do this deal, LSUbisnstill on the hook until 2023 in terms of legal obligation. True, the amount may be reduced but the term is not changed. This way, both parties are done. LSU pays a one time sim and can now look to the future without that debt obligation on the books.

Wrong

Not so fast, my friend. At Oklahoma State he was a .500 average coach. His winning percentage at LSU is kind of skewed given the shear talent that he had at his disposal. Talent so great that even a predictable play calling was still successful. He will be at the most disadvantage wise at KU with recruiting than anywhere else in his whole career. If he makes them relevant than he truly is good. Perhaps he knew he made some mistakes and doesn't do that this time around. Otherwise, KU is going to continue to be at the bottom of the barrel in the Big 12.

Fat Man Mangino had Kansas ranked #1 in the country at one point.

Les won’t sniff a winning season.

He was never a good Xs and Os coach, I don’t think anyone outside of the biggest Les Pumpers would dispute that.

He knows the Armageddon meteor is on it's way and there ain't no stopping it.

Wasn’t there a clause that he had to be seeking employment, but not be hired, to continue to receive his buyout?

I get that, but Kansas will pay him more than the $1.5 million a year he was getting from his buyout. That would mean that LSU would have been off the hook for the entire amount remaining as soon as he was hired

He succeeded in the Big 12 before, and it's a weaker league than his first go round. He can play for third place and a bowl most years, and when OU and/or Texas falter, be in the running for a conference title.

No. He ihad to seek employment of an equivalent nature. If he was hired, he still got the buyout minus whatever he was making at his new job.
