It was probably approached by representatives of Les. Aleeva isn’t that smart. I suspect Les may be a head coach soon

I sure hope that Aleeva does not even think about any contract extension for any football coach other than Aranda and Raymond

What is another month? We know he is in play for the job and Kansas will make the hire in a couple of weeks. If they hire someone other than Les, then do the settlement

stick to your stats speedy. it's obvious you don't know anything about contracts and settlements. any time you have an opportunity to wipe out a 6.5 million dollar liability with a one time 1.5 mil payment you grab it. and fast. if LSU did what you advocate and the Kansas job fell through it would be malfeasance on LSU's part.

hell, boosters were paying miles buy out anyway so it's damn good to save them that money because it most certainly will come a time when LSU will need to ask them for more later. it gives LSU more options in the future.

Will he win an NC or the Big 12? Of course not.

Can he improve their win total from recent years? Undoubtedly.

Isn’t that all it takes for a new HC to be considered a resounding success around here??

He already went to a program that had losing seasons 12 of the previous 13 years and IMMEDIATELY made them respectable and ended up winning 9 games.

Random story: around 1 pm today Les walked in to Starbucks in BR and my mom was in the front of line. He asked if he could pay for her coffee, she had already paid, so he bought the person in line behind her their order. Then he just walked out. My mom called me telling me this a right after and then the news broke a couple hours later.

It's the holiday season, that's what people who are great and humble people do.

Your story further proves Miles is the GOAT coach ever at LSU. Such a class act.

If he does indeed sign a deal with Kansas, it’s kansas that is getting the raw end of the deal. Instead of splitting his salary with LSU, they have to pay the whole sum.

I’m probably alone, but I don’t think this has anything to do with Kansas

More than likely, LSU knew his job search was a farce, so they just ended it amicably

Could be 100% wrong, but it’s possible I guess. I’ve always been under the impression that CLM was done

Dellenger said it was Les who approached Alleva about this deal a couple of days ago.

But..but...but...I was told by the rant that Les Miles was a greedy piece of shite and was screwing the university over.

Good job Les and good luck moving forward!

If you think he walked away from money just because he’s a good guy you are clueless.
