With the experience that the Online and receivers are getting and with the way that this recruiting class is shaping up. Brennan should have everything he needs to be successful when he's ready to take over.

Was there some doubt about this in your mind?

Since he hasn’t played any this season, I am suspicious that he will ever see the field.

He is doing it the right way. No way he could have taken some of the hits Burrow has taken this year. He’s putting on much needed weight and hopefully learning what a leader looks like from Burrow.

Well for starters, he has seen the field before. He’s been our 2nd string QB for 2 years now. And Coach O said he’s been battling an ankle injury for most of this season. No reason to be “suspicious.” He’s our next QB.

Question is...

Will he put on the weight needed?

Serious question: how is is weight training going? I heard from a sauce that his size, weight and build was a concern and they’ve been supposedly putting him through a strict weight building regime this year. Anyone heard if he’s progressing on schedule?

O mentioned he had gained weight in his press conference. Not sure how much though

He's been injured all year.

He’s never gonna be a big dude.

The most he’ll weigh is like 225

Brennan has an NFL caliber arm. He is also a smart kid with a great work ethic.
The problem, he was all skin and bones when he entered the program.

He needed some time to physically develop into his body. Redshirting him is not a knock on his talent but rather giving him the best opportunity for his career at LSU and the pros.

That being said, we need a more innovative offense. We will waste this kid’s talent if we don’t manage to put together a better scheme and learn to trust our players to run that scheme.

I just dont understand the infatuation you guys have for Brennan. He hasnt shown anything worth being excited about.

He isnt playing until 2020 (if he wins the job). There will be so much roster turnover between now and Fall 2020.

exactly what have you seen that leads you to that conclusion? Strong arm? Lots of guys have that, but that's not nearly all that's required (and I'd argue a strong arm isn't actually required at all, if a QB is accurate and can read defenses).

So please tell me what Brennan has showed that leads you to believe he's our next QB. He didn't show much his freshman year, and he wasn't good in the spring.

I don’t think Brennan will ever take over as starter. This is just my opinion but I think he will just be a backup.
