I was a wee lad, but I was there, stayed until the end, and it was glorious.

I was young, but was there as well. “You’ve got to notice Carl Otis!”

5 catches, all for touchdowns.
201 yards.
4 from Ensminger and 1 from Woodley
The next game against UF his first catch was a TD. Six TD in 6 catches. Still an NCAA record.

Listened to it on the radio as a 10 year-old.

I was 9 yrs old and was in that number. Willie Teal was one of my favorite players as I wore #37 during my middle school years. Lyman White was on that 1977 team and I ate multiple times at his buffalo wings place on Highland when I was at LSU (late 80's)

Willie Teal was my guy. Loved him. Charles Alexander was more like a GOD to me, a football superhero. Lyman White used to laugh at me in college “ white people never know there's a bone in a pork chop sammich”.

The day LSU scores even 60 points will be the day pigs fly.
Seriously when’s the last time?

This the old peep check in?
I did see him with the Kansas City Chiefs
Don't remember this my first recollection of LSU football Alan Risher Orange Bowl against Nebraska.

I was there! Didn’t Robert Dow chase down a kick returner at the 1 yard line and the D had a goal line stand to preserve the shut out?

I was 11 years old and at that game. That 1977 team actually had some talent. In the 1978 to 1981 draft, LSU would have 15 NFL picks. Carson was a 5th rounder in 1980 draft and went on to have an excellent NFL career, 5th round pick and 10 or 11 year career. Made the KC Chiefs HOF. Someone mentioned Willie Teal, great player and 2nd round pick in 1980 draft. That 1977 team again would produce 15 NFL picks the next 4 drafts. Charles Alexander in 1979. The late David Woodley, great talent and someone who could have turned into a great NFL QB was also on that team but sadly had some depression issues which were never diagnosed. I also think the late Hokie Gajan was the FB on that team and played a lot as a freshman (drafted by Saints in 1981.
Willie Teal was a sophomore that year. That Willie Teal lead secondary in late 70's was great, the self Labeled "Soul Patrol" Chris Williams another top notch cover CB and 2nd round pick in 1981 was also part of that group along with C. Burrell, 6th round pick by Browns in 1979.
That "Soul Patrol" secondary brings back great memories of 1970's LSU football and great 70's music of all types but in the case of the "Soul Patrol", great 70's R&B sound, i.e. Curtis Mayfield, Al Green, Spinners, Temptations, etc.
Kudo's to OP for reminding us of greats from LSU's past and that Rice 1977 game
