Maybe if they had taken the bailout money they could have spent some money on R&D to fix their ancient arse lineup. From everything I've read they are looking like they are about to be a in a world of hurt b/c of their over reliance on truck sales and complete lack of care towards their car lineup.

Worst slogan ever...
"Domestic. Not domesticated."
WTF?
Check out my new car! It's totally domestic!!!!!

Thread after thread of problems from 2019 owners on the Ram forum.
Wouldn't Ford or Chevy forums also have threads about problems even if the problems were somewhat rare?
I bought a 2015 Laramie 3/4 ton last year and I couldn't be happier with it. But I am sort of temporarily retired and I haven't put this truck through the brutal use that I've asked of my past trucks.

There's a recall on some wranglers too.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV is preparing to recall about 18,000 Jeep Wranglers because of a faulty weld in the frame of the popular sport utility vehicle that can cause a sudden crash.

Seriously? I guess I shouldn't have anything left of my 2011 with a 149,000 trouble free miles.

Buy Ford their seat belts ignite.
Ford doesn’t manufacture seat belts. Saw a problem and fixed it. Chrysler, on the other hand, does welding on assembly line. Defective weld on Jeep is a direct reflection of a Chrysler issue.
ETA:
According to this summary, available online at NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation, the potential culprit could be seat belt pretensioners manufactured by two automotive suppliers, ZF TRW and Takata. The latter of the two, Takata, is still embroiled in a massive recall over tens of millions of faulty airbags, which have caused hundreds of injuries and more than 20 deaths globally.

Every manufacturer has recalls. I've owned Ford, GMC and Ram and they were all fine vehicles for me. Hell, my F150 has 3 recalls on it right now.

It's a dodge. They have been behind in quality of everyone for decades.

I have a 2016, just had it in the shop for an entire day for 3 recalls.

No, they didn’t receive one dime of TARP money.
That is true, but not the entire story. The Dept of Energy did in 2009 loan Ford $5 to upgrade several plants to build more fuel efficient vehicles.

Yea because that is mandated by the EPA and nobody wants the shite anyway so they pay to upgrade plants to produce cars in this manner.

What the frick does that have to do with the fact that Ford DID take government loans?
I'm not even complaining about Ford. I own several Fords, I'm simply saying that as a matter of fact to say "Ford didn't take government money" is wrong. THey DID take government money.

It’s a lose lose.
Vehicle has an issue, no recall made by manufacturer: “______ company sucks and builds POS vehicles!”

Lack of logical thinking when discussing vehicles and reliability is astounding.
