Frat Tailgating Update

So, this was the first game after the fraternities were kicked out of their houses for pre-game partying (not really "tailgating", but whatever...).
As expected, they more or less did the same thing that they did last year when they were kicked off the parade grounds, and set up in the areas in the east -- actually closer to their houses. This shows where their outdoor parties-- with big tents/canopies, LOUD DJ'ed music, etc., generally were on Saturday:
A lot of them had been on Dalrymple already -- such as on the U High front lawn-- but this is the 1st time this year they came back to the area around Isaac Cline Drive (have never heard it called that).
Couple of actual photos-- behind U High:
On big field between LSU Board of Supervisors building, Sigma Nu house and W. Lakeshore (this was when they were packing up and about done):
Have to see how it goes for us; I have a feeling that this situation may wind up being the 'new normal', which kind of sucks. This has been our tailgate area for over twenty years, along with many other families, and it's been great. We've been there so long we've made friends with the Lod Cook parking security guard. It has nice grassy areas to back up to and set up chairs in; open fields for the kids to run around and throw the football; the ladies like the short walk to the nice Lod Cook Hotel bathrooms (instead of porta-potties), FREE parking, and finally easy in and out access to I-10 via Dalrymple (yeah, I'm giving away my 'secret spot', but it looks like it's screwed anyway).
We didn't get there early enough to tailgate last game with the 2:30 PM kick-off; we'll see how it goes this week with Homecoming and all (that area is also usually the staging area for the parade).

I was expecting this to show how they trashed the place. The pics you show seem relatively tame to me. I am not sure I understand your purpose - that you have lost "your" traditional tailgating spot? No problem, just pay $1500 per weekend for one of those spots at "The Oaks" near CEBA.

So I’m supposed to care about you losing a tailgate spot to students who attend the school?
Yea...not happening.

Actually, when we went back to the car after the game, the area was relatively clean and straight-- kudos to them for that. Nothing at all like the Parade Ground in previous years.
Bigger issue is more the loud vulgar rap music during the parties, and loss of access to fields.. as I said, we'll see this weekend... heck for the Ole Miss game, Sigma Nu had a nice cover band playing everything from 60's hits to recent pop, and it was actually a joy to hear that drifting across the way....

Get this shite outta here. Let it go. I don’t see why grown arse men care so much about college kids tailgating.

The parade grounds were actually in great shape after the game, and not completely trashed. I liked it.

It's not the 'early bird'; the many families that tailgate there are often there earlier, but they don't put up the large tents and canopies you see in the MIDDLE of the field. Personal canopies and chairs and such near the parking spaces.

Might have been the LSU admin's intent to keep these activities out of sight of the public, and that's basically been accomplished.

I'm not coming down on the students; but the stupid administration for keeping them out of their houses. I mean, pre-game parties at frat houses were traditions going back well before I was in LSU in the 80s, up until I started tailgating in the area in the late 1990s.

So glad to have updates on this. I've been waiting since Saturday morning to find out where the frats decided to party.

Just so we are clear, you don’t think an issue that directly affects thousands of LSU students, alumni, parents, and indirectly affects thousands more by causing tailgate location issues, parking problems and changed traffic patterns, is worthy of a thread on an LSU football message board?

Its not your secret spot because nobody knows about it. Its your secret spot because nobody else wants to walk a mile to the stadium from the tailgate spot.

Nope. The frats can F off. I don't GAF where they do or do not tailgate or anything else about them.

No one cares about you "rent-a-friend" pussies but other "rent-a-friend" pussies!

You have a point-- it is a bit of a walk, not quite a mile to our gate entrance, but not much further away than the Parade Grounds. Actually closer to our gate than Levee South and Gourrier South, about the same distance as Touchdown Village (2) and Parker Coliseum.
But having parked in those areas once or twice before, I can tell you it's a LOT easier exiting east campus afterwards and getting to I-10.
