I’m glad it happened to me...I’m a better person for it.

I was just watching a video of a woman who said she was molested and raped repeatedly by her biological father. She said that she’s a better person for it and it brought her closer to God. She believes because of it she can relate to other victims and what satan meant for harm God has worked it out for good.
I guess some people are on a different level of spirituality and acceptance.
Not sure I could ever see that situation the way she does. Could you?

Yes because the alternative is far worse.
I dont see any other way to make it a positive.
It's not like she can go back and make it not happen, she has found a positive acceptance of it. Great for her.

Her way of dealing with it would be better than my way.

I don’t understand it but hey if that’s her way of getting past something terrible like that I can’t fault her for it.

I don't believe in a higher power, but if it helps her cope then good for her.

I am betting that she has just talked herself into that as a coping mechanism....glad the poor girl has found a way to somewhat deal with that, though.

How much therapy you think it took to reach that point?

It’s like when the victims say they forgive their attackers. They are not forgiving them to make the attackers lives easier but to make their own lives better.

I disagree with her, I think she’d be better off if he hadn’t done that.

You watched an actual video of it happening? That's disgusting.
Posted on 10/1/18 at 9:14 pm to Tester1216
she can say whatever she wants but she'd be better off if it never happened.

Crazy what me can rationalize when dealing with trauma like that.

It was a video of her talking about it and sharing her story to victims of abuse.
