Not all schedules are created equal. Some teams may have benefited from soft early schedules and could be in for a rude awakening as the schedules get tougher in their conference. Others have already gotten through most of their big tests for the year and are primed to make a steady climb in the polls the second half of the season.

I will admit that just like Las Vegas, I had LSU as an underdog against both Miami and Auburn and in both cases the Tigers pulled off impressive upsets. I expected them to be 3-2 right now and they are 5-0. LSU's toughest remaining road games are at Florida and Texas A&M, but unfortunately the Tigers also have to host Alabama and Georgia. They could continue to surprise; however, I see a clear drop for them from their current No. 5 spot by the end of the season.

Well there's a lot of Truth to what he saying

The description of rise/fall is ridiculous, but we've got the most difficult part coming up, that's not debatable.

Hard to disagree with him

When our only loss ends up being a close one to Bama, they better not drop us

If I'm trying to be as objective as possible, this isn't wrong.
LSU's schedule is about to get a hell of a lot tougher than the last 5 games. We play at least 4 teams that I believe would 5-0 if they played the same stretch of games we have.
That said, it's time to strap up and whoop some big boy asses.

In the next four games, LSU plays UF, Mississippi State, UGA, and Bama.
You think Florida and Mississippi State go 5-0 with the same exact schedule LSU has had up until now? I'm not certain UGA would have gone 5-0 in that stretch.

The schedule has been tough since day 1 unlike other teams around the country

He stated that "I had LSU as an underdog against both Miami and Auburn". His logic is flawed. We did beat those teams and they would otherwise both still be undefeated if, in fact, LSU has not been the team to defeat them.

This stretch LSU is about to hit is the type of stretch that would turn this from just another LSU football season to a legendary one. Wouldn't have it any other way. It has the potential to be a lot of fun if the boys stay focused and can catch a break or two. It's exciting to be in the hunt again.

Texas has OU coming up and that will be an L, so not sure what Steele is seeing there with the Horns schedule. They also have to face WVU. I think after that it's pretty soft, but it is the Big 12,,,,errrr 10.

quote:yep. We could still lose 3-4 games. I'm not predicting that, but also wouldn't be too surprised. I do expect us to lose to both Bama and UGA at home. And I think there's a good chance at dropping one a game at UF or at aTm.

Texas beating OU would be the norm for Tom Herman. He always wins when you think he has no chance. Its maryland that beats him.

I could see you feeling that way about Bama after recent history and the way they've started this season on offense, but why do you expect that when it comes to UGA?
Have you seen them play this season? Outside of the South Carolina game, they've looked very beatable, especially with the way the Tigers have played and with them coming to Baton Rouge.

I'm not really sure I agree with that list.
Yes, LSU still has some big games left, have played 2 already. Auburn still has Bama and Georgia. A&M has already played Bama and Clemson, so in theory it should be easier... right?
Florida still has UGA and LSU. Texas has Oklahoma and West Virginia. Michigan has Ohio State, Mich State, ... do they play Penn St and Wisconsin too?
Some of those teams seem to be just random picks.

Well said. Hard to argue...

Not sure how you could disagree and it's not a shocking claim. LSU drops 1 game, they will fall out of top 5.

That's why I don't want their SUCK arse game day in BR. They disrespected us all year now want on the wagon. FRICK em

Imagine the backlash if LSU comes out of this month 8-0...
