I wonder how many of those incompletions have been throw aways to avoid a sack or worse.

Every QB throws balls away, and every QB suffers drops. Stop using those excuses. Burrow is sub-50% because he hasn’t played well enough. Maybe that’s because he hasn’t been here very long, and maybe it’s starting to click and we’ll see lot’s of improvement. But throwaways and drops are unworthy excuses.

I'm not reading this thread but this is very true about every college quarterback ever

Sure but he is also a temporary remedy to our inability to develope a QB.

People are either dense or are going out of their way to miss the point because of the messenger.

Finebaum could say the sky is blue and people would have an issue with it.

Stephen A. and Paul Finebaum...two of the most massive egos in the sports media world. How anyone can stomach listening to those two blowhards is beyond me.

Ask Finebaum, if you have 2 alternating Quarterbacks, you have a QB problem

Not sure where this came from. LSU will have Joe for 2 years then it'll be Brennan's team. It remains to be seen who LSU will turn to after that.

Slightly misguided dude.....any of those teams could skulldrag us around TS on any given night.

The difference is...with our current offense, we could never do that to them. We might win but UGLY like we have the first few weeks

With LSU'S defense I seriously doubt that any team is going to skull drag them around tiger stadium. Bama has the best chance to do it. The rest LSU is more than capable of beating.

Why do people on here get SOOOO worked up when somebody in the media says something LSU fans don't like............

I will never get this... Yet we have a 7 page thread...

WOW..........

Sorry, you interpreted my post as being "worked up", Peej.

If you watch the segment, you would understand the apparent slanted view against LSU, from the way the question was asked by Stephen A, to the way Finebaum responded, and nonchalantly blew off LSU as a "nothing" basically. Not recognizing our two good wins or anything positive at all, just that Burrow completing 49% wasn't getting us "very far", an arbitrary distance that he didn't define.

It's just funny how no matter what, we don't get any respect (and maybe we dont deserve any, but I think we deserve a little and so does Orgeron) because LSU has made all the critics and "experts" eat shite to this point, so of course Finebaum isnt going to give us the due credit. At least they are consistent through the years, I will give them that.

If you have anything of value to add, we are now on page 8, I believe. WOW!

Burrow hasn't played well enough?

Is he supposed to block for himself and catch his own passes too?

Is he supposed to be 5-0 through 4 games?

Maybe elaborate on how he hasn't played well enough, because a 49% completion rate doesn't exactly paint the whole picture.

Well, from the Gump perspective, the two wins are nothing if LSU loses to Bama again

I think it's funny. I saw the segment and didn't find them to be disrespectful to LSU at all. They basically said the same thing Coach O said at his press conference on Monday and his show last night outside of the temporary fix comment. Unless someone thinks getting a quality grad transfer from a top 5 program every 1 or 2 years is a sustainable model of success, it is in fact a temporary fix. Btw, by using the word "fix" it's a compliment to Coach O which Finebaum has been this season on Sports Center and College Football Live.

Ditto, Finebaum is a biased Bama Homer. I could care less what that weasel thinks of LSU.

I get what you are saying, but honestly when it comes to giving LSU any credit, I've just not witnessed him doing so. In my humble opinion, I think he knows that when we are starting off our season with quality wins such as the 2 we have now, he's afraid that this will be the "the year" that we beat Bama. I pray this is the year we do it, it's been a long time and if we do, I can't wait to watch him try and rationalize "why" Bama lost vs us beating them. I'm sorry, but every time I "try" to watch his show, I just can't stay there long. His show is boring and the majority of the callers are idiots!

I didn't say they were disrespectful. I said they just aren't giving us any respect at all.

I now understand what he meant by "temporary fix" thanks to clarification from this thread. But he definitely still blew us off as not going very far this year, even with that temporary fix in Burrow. Maybe he was referring to future QB development and LSU teams not going far in the future, but the question was about this year. And it just doesn't ever feel objective coming from Paul, considering he is a Bama fanboy. And the more success LSU has, the worse his take on them looks. They (the critics) still WANT to be right about this team.

I don't agree that is a sustainable model of success (still tbd if this IS a real success), but if we can use it to our advantage in this case with Burrow then why not? Its still to be determined if this coaching staff can develop a QB, and they have a clean slate to prove it.

Stidham's body of work never tends to show up when we play them whether it's over there or in Tiger stadium.

IMO, he simply answered the question he was asked. "How far can LSU go with Burrow completing 49% of his passes?" Now, if he had just come out and said "LSU isn't going very far this season" unsolicited, then I would completely agree. I think we all feel like LSU won't reach their potential with Burrow only completing half of his passes. As I've stated in this thread previously (maybe 6 pages ago) it's not on him completely. He has drops and throw away due to no one open or bad protection. Those things need to improve for continued success. Personally, I believe that it will.

But when Jarrett Stidham goes 16/28 with 1 TD, 2 INTs and a 50.1 QBR - at home - it's just because he had a bad game.

Stidham is a terrible fit for that offense, and was still solid last year. He did just have a bad game. He'll be a 1st round pick next year.

I hope our offense develops, but I just don't see it happening with Ensminger. This team reminds me of just a standard Les Miles team.
