I think they got together and decided they were going to use this against the DEMs, which is exactly what many people feared they wouldn't have the balls to do. Mitch going scorched earth on the DEMS happened like 30 minutes after it was announced Kav would be on FNC. The FNC interview is completely out of character for these sorts of hearings so it's obviously been approved by the higher ups.

They're going to normalized Kav

They're going to use all the hollow soapboxing of the Left recently in November. Book it.

Trump is starting to look like a genius by nominating a GOPe guy in Kavanaugh. It's like he predicted this nonsense from the left and knew he needed to nominate someone the Rs would stand behind even when the going got tough.

It's called fighting back. They've been watching Daddy do it with great results and finally decided to become uncucked.

Which is partly why I was accepting of them pushing him instead of Amy Barrett.

A lot of people in the Senate worked hard to get Kavanaugh approved under W. Lots of vested interest in getting him across the finish line.

For everyone who likes to constantly chide him about "irresponsible tweeting" he seems to be keeping masterfully silent on this thing and allowing it to play out.

ETA: Trump has always been 3 steps ahead of everyone on things like this. He knows exactly what he is doing. He is crazy like a fox.

Trump wrote the book on responding to this kind of stuff, they would be smart to emulate him.

yeah i think "the Swamp" is doing work for Trump

hell, this may even bridge the gap b/w the establishment never Trumpers and the admin (b/c at this point it's clear that meeting the DEMs halfway means nothing and they'll turn on you when necessary)

It's like the democrats have lost any ability to discern the pulse of the electorate outside of the far extreme left wing.

This.

I think DJT has opened their eyes to a whole new “non apologetic” world and they see how it’s working. The more the Republicans behave like everyday humans and not giant pushovers, the more attractive the party will become.

They have to play this right and if they do it will work out.

Sorry. I don’t think having him do an interview on Fox is a sign of strength. How will the other networks report what he says? More howling from Dems, faux accusers, twetterverse, loons at the same time? This is just a truly sorry spectacle. Neither he nor his family deserve this. If the FBI is going to investigate anyone it ought to be DiFi, Booker and/or Blumenthal.

well just like there were tons of people getting mad at the GOP on here and saying they'd stay home in Nov, the DEMs have to show their electorate that they'll fight. the problem is that yes, their fear isn't losing the middle, it's losing the non-extreme portion of their electorate to the utter crazies

He's saving Amy to replace RBG.

I'd be willing to bet they are already vetting and prepping Barrett.

that's why he's doing an interview with his wife

no way they'd go this hard without (a) planning to use it like i said and (b) they're 100% convinced he's in the clear

the interview is going to be an attempt to normalized him and rile up the moderate/average GOP section to show them any future candidate risks this...and of course, that the voters need to show up in Nov to say it's no OK

I saw Amy Barrett on TV the other day. It was clear she was looking through the TV at my crotch.

Was there not a thread posted here a couple weeks ago that showed Fox had the highest viewership by a large margin?
