Michael Jordan was the greatest and a bigger than life cultural icon with an interesting personal story at the time with the baseball seasons, etc.... LeBron James is an overgrown child in a world of over publicized sports stars.

In short, space Jam worked because of who Michael Jordan was both on and off the court. Space Jam 2 will be a cheap knockoff money grab centered around an uninteresting whiney manchild.
