Anybody else hear Chris Blair screw up the Dillon TD?

LSU edited the audio but it was aweful. He said “Derrick Dillon with the pick 6!!” And that was a good 10 seconds after he scored and ran around the end zone. You can say what you want to, but he is cheesy and just doesn’t fit at LSU. I miss Hawthorne in his prime. He was fun to listen to.

That call by Blair was terrible. Absolutely terrible. It was like he was eating a sandwich or somehow otherwise distracted.

I didn't hear the call, but the few times I have listened, he's done a good job.
It's always better when the guy you grew up listening to is making the call, even if Jack Hunt is catching Devery Henderson's receptions. LOL

I miss Hawthorne just because I was so used to his voice and style. On the few occasions I've listened to Blair during various sporting events, he's done a good job though. I like him

The truth is that Blair is not a football caller, he’s better with a sport like baseball. He’s almost a little “too professional” sometimes with his calls and his voice. He’ll probably never give you chills like Hawthorne could. And the DD touchdown call wasn’t very good that’s for sure.

LSU Football FB page has a 4 min highlight video using the radio broadcast.
And yes, his call of the Dillon touchdown was awful.

I did not hear the call but I heard the DJ voice introduction he made to start the broadcast yesterday which was bloody awful.

Blair manages to make very important plays sound routine.

Blair is such an upgrade over Hawthorne it isn't even funny, and one blown call doesn't change that.

I was listening to the CBS broadcast and I think right after the Dillon TD, one of the announcers said something along the lines of "Justin Jefferson, 71 yard touchdown!"

I like Blair, but yesterday was not a good day. I had to listen to most of the game and he was constantly missing where the ball was spotted and was late giving down and distance. Those are essential for a radio call. He did not seem focused.
