Was this before or after your near death experience?

The night before my mom died.
Long fight with cancer. On oxygen.
Went there around 8 and she was freaking out that her oxygen machine wasn't working.
It was. Her lungs were failing. I calmed her down and got her to take a few breaths.
We talked briefly. I showed her a picture of my new girlfriend who she was supposed to meet that weekend.
I told her I wasn't very good at this sort of thing, but I loved her. She said the same and asked me to leave. She went to sleep.
I walked out of her room, told my aunt she was okay. And went to the house knowing I'd never speak to her again.
She died three hours later.
I could have called the ambulance, but I didn't. Because she was always adamant that she didn't want to die in a hospital.
It will eat at me for the rest of my life.

Good one rebeloke, i usually don't open your threads for obvious reasons, but the timing of this one is ironic and appropriate, thank you...
pick one OT, i DGAF
a) the day my wife and i learned our son had a brain tumor
b) the day my wife and i learned she had cancer
c) the day our daughter was struck and killed by a distracted driver while riding her bike
d) every day in this nightmare searching for answers to each of the above
e) all of the above, apparently my life is a cruel joke to someone...

I've been fortunate to not have any close loved ones pass away yet.
For me, life pretty much sucks right now. I'm separated from my wife, and I'm dealing with some terrible health issues (low back and shoulder injuries).

Nothing too horrible. Worst was probably when I went to the LSU-Bama game in 2009. Was sick the whole day, watched LSU lose (this is the game Peterson had an INT, but it was called incomplete) then got food poisoning after and spent the rest of the night hugging the toilet.

You use my mom, but that's not a schtick?

My mom just messaged me how sore her entire body is. She has cancer everywhere. I know it isn't long before I lose her.

Sorry for your loss. We watched my FIL battle cancer throughout his body. Hospice was a blessing.

My dad died that morning after a 19 month long battle with cancer. It was a bit bittersweet because I was relieved he was no longer suffering but I obviously wished he would have kept fighting it.
Second worse was seeing them close the casket realizing that'd be the last time I ever saw him.

All three of my girlfriends found out about each other. Two of them just so happened to be in the same class. They had been talking about me to each other. Then realized it sounded very similar and ask what the name was. The 3rd was a bartender and she found out when they went to go have some drinks to celebrate their discovery. They pretty much told the whole bar, which lead to my 6 month dry spell and subsequent banishment by the sororities from dating me. Thank God for the next Freshman class or I may not have survived college.

the day my wife left me for another man

Probably the day I got a call that my test results were abnormal and I had cell changes that were pre-cancerous. Had to have a procedure to remove those cells and it was 3 years of regular follow-ups before I was told I was in the clear.
