The day my dad died.

I had gone out that night and my friends dropped me off a little after 2AM. He heard me come in and asked if it was me. I told him it was and good night. Soon after he started choking and my mom immediately ran to him (he had been sick for awhile). She told me to call 911, next thing I really remember is him on a stretcher laying lifeless on it.

By this time my friends saw the ambulance at my house and came back. My mom told me to stay home and she will call me. It was all happening so fast, or it at least felt like it. While he appeared to be lifeless on the stretcher, they were working on him so I really didn't know what was going on or what was going to happen. About 30-45 mins later, my mom comes home along with my dad's sister and her husband and informed me he passed away.

While he had been sick for awhile, he wasn't in a situation where he was expected to die within a certain time. And the way it happened, when it happened, etc.. As soon as my mom, aunt and uncle came back and informed me, I was started to process exactly what just happened.

That is also the same time when I considered my friends to be more of a family than my family. That's another story for another day, but I can't think of anything that is worse than losing one of my parents (and gradually lost my mom from a relationship stand point).

Went in and judge began to apologize profusely and tell me she realized my wife was inconsistent in her stories and her BAC at 10am + other things in her system made her realize what was really going on and reversed everything she had ruled on the day before.

Sounds like your run of the mill judge...

A total idiot of a person*

After reading the stories in here, I am truly sorry for you all and your loses. Life is truly a bitch but you somehow find a way to make it through the bad days and learn to really appreciate the good ones.

April 16th 2006 on a drilling rig in Saudi Arabia. Called home and found out my mother had died. Always be careful what your last words are to a loved one, mine to her were, I love you, see you in a month.

The absolute worst thing I have ever witnessed was my wife's grandfather slowly running out of oxygen and dying. He'd had his gal bladder removed and never woke up and just slowly died.

2nd worst day was 11/8/2016 starting at approximately 9:50 pm. That's when Trump was projected the winner in Florida, and I knew it was over. It's pretty much been a nightmare ever since.

Based on the above she was probably just trying to get away from your queer arse.

eta: I feel kind of bad replying to a troll like that after some of the real responses in this thread. Thanks for sharing, when you hear of other people's challenges it puts your own in perspective. I hope you all have somehow found peace, and know that strangers in this little corner of the internet care about you and appreciate you.

Prayers to everyone in this thread. For all the bravado and bs on the OT, this thread shows many people have been through some awful stuff.

This might be the most honest thread on the OT this year.

When I was forced to rush the beaches of Normandy, Omaha specifically. I was the only survivor and had to literally identify my buddies by their limbs. Counting down to the day that I no longer have to remember such a thing.

My 31 year old daughter passed away unexpectedly two years ago this December. Heart attack. She was a thin, in shape, young lady and we still do not know what went wrong

Think about it every single day. No parent should ever have to bury one of their children. A cruel thing.
