Just looked, tonight’s attendance of 96,000 was the worst home opener attendance since 2013, the year before the south endzone expansion.

Remember when we were told that there’s people waiting to take your tickets?

Joe Alleva has ruined LSU football.....

Previous poor concession options and making people pay to park everywhere certainly don't help.

No way we had 96k. The east uppers were empty the entire game, and at least 1/5th of seats on the east side were vacant

Joe Alleva has no conception of opportunity cost. Paying Jimbo Fisher $3 million more a year than you do Orgeron now is paid back in spades with what we lose with Orgeron. It is irreparable at this point too, which is the worst thing. It'll take a jackpot coaching hire to rectify where we are now. We're an 8-4 program for the foreseeable future.

Paid.

Can’t blame the fans,

Neutral Site Opener taking luster off of home opener

Parking/tailgating hassle

Not an Alleva fan but attendance woes are not unique to LSU.

I've made all but about 2 home games in the last 13 years, and I've never seen the East upper deck that bare for the first half. Actual attendance had to be waaaay low. I think this may have been the lowest actual attendance for a LSU home game since the 90s.

Our openers against Chattanooga, Jacksonville State, and Sam Houston State were all better attended.

And 98,000 freaking people showed up to support the team...but we still suck in every way possible. Please don't introduce reason to the board douboy...it'll just confuse everyone.

I know, but 1st games at home used to have great attendance just because people were excited about football. And we had more to be excited about after beating Miami soundly. Times have changed.

Right. I don’t think they disclose actual attendance.

All the more reason for it to have decent attendance. SLU brought way more visitors than Chattanooga or Sam Houston state
