Its a good thing we have that new bridge in St. Francisville...

Those 35 people in New Roads who need to get across the river every day have such an easy commute now that they don't have to wait 15 minutes for the ferry.
Meanwhile, the 120K plus cars coming through Baton Rouge are like:
Louisiana is so backwards

There is a shite load of people that cross that bridge every morning/ evening

So because Baton Rouge traffic sucks we shouldn’t build bridges elsewhere. Makes sense

Fishin false river then huntin St Francisville baw!

Well you’re sure hitting the sauce early.
In less than 10 years, they will have more lanes added to most likely fully delay the expected 168K vehicles coming through.
Those aren’t rookie numbers.

Who forced you to live in BR and not new roads?
Posted on 8/30/18 at 7:10 am to LSUTigerFan247
Yep. Burn all the existing bridges and build them only in Baton Rouge. That’ll work

Honestly, what can be done about Baton Rouge? Build another bridge? Where?
Baton Rouge needs an entirely new transportation infrastructure - a generational project and by the time it would be completed, it will be obsolete. Rare intersection of demographics, sudden population growth, geography, politics, etc., have doomed the situation. A blind man can see it.

People in that area were willing to give up”their back yard” to build that bridge.

Well to their credit new roads and st Francisville figured out a location everyone could agree on, sucks that br can’t figure out where to put a loop because of all the nimby’s

Sort of. The blue bloods of St. Franciscille fought tooth and nail to not have the bridge in their slice of paradise.
So they shoved it in BFE.

You might be taken more seriously if you didn't just completely make up those numbers for the St. Francisville Bridge and ferry wait time.

not true
Nola and BR get a disproportionately high amount of public money
the problem with LA is that it invests in BR/Nola too heavily when neither are ever going to legitimately improve

Regulations for escape from the nuke plant dictated a bridge.
Itll never happen but they need to draw a straight line from the basin at grosse tete to i10 on the south side of BR, and connect to a bridge there. Allow a bypass. Then put a 10-12 connector around Denham so you can actually get from one to the other.

The people that lived in West Feliciana and Pointe Coupee wanted it and advocated for a bridge to replace the ferry since the 1960s. Funding was secured in the 1980s, and construction didn't start until 2006, with the bridge opening some time in 2011.
It wasn't just a random outlay.

It's easy to do when there is a lot of available land.
Baton Rouge metro area needs a new bridge somewhere between Brusly and Plaquemine. Outside of widening I-10 in Baton Rouge, that new bridge should be the highest priority for the state's infrastructure development.

Obviously the 35 cars per day was being facetious. Sorry if I lost you. Its more like 3,000 compared to the 120,000 or so that cross the bottleneck bridge in BR
