Its great that Joe Burrow is getting so much support from his new team and fans from his OSU days.
I think its important that he doesn't have undue pressure heaped upon him like this first game is a playoff championship game.
I can guarantee his performance won't be perfect and he should be given a little latitude even when a 3rd down isn't successful.
Ultimately it will take the whole team for the Tigers to succeed.
Best of luck...Buckeye fan.

If he doesn't win the Heisman and CFP he's losing his scholarship, sorry!

Don’t worry. Expectations may be high but our QB bar is low.

Handling pressure is one the most important trait of a great QB. If he can't handle pressure, he's at the wrong school, playing the wrong position and pursuing the wrong dream of going to the NFL.

Good thing everyone here is always very rational and supportive of our players even when they are sucking.

Why do fans of a higher ranked team think they know more about football than fans of a lower ranked team?

Well you’re too late for that shite. People were celebrating like he was the GOAT as soon as he transferred

It’s not like he has big shoes to fill. He doesn’t have to come in and be Drew Brees for us to be impressed.

Why is everyone so worried about him?
Is this not the reason he came here?

Fat chance.

People will be getting their torches ready after the first incompletion.

The undue pressure is a part of the reason QB’s have failed here over the years.

They come in and feel like they have to win the game immediately and set the world on fire.

If he doesn't throw 2 touchdowns to himself on the first play he better be riding the bench for the rest of the season.

The first time he fumbles a snap or throws a pick the asscranks on here will make make Rachel Maddow and Don Lemon seems like levelheaded geniuses. A lot of them already do and we haven’t played a snap yet. Just the way it is

As a fellow long time Buckeye fan and recent new Tiger fan, I understand what you're saying, but I don't believe that Joey B will wilt under any "undue pressure."

I think he will thrive on pressure, just like he did when he took his underdog Athens High School team against powerhouse Toledo Central Catholic in the 2014 Ohio HS Div 3 championship game. While his underdog team came up 4 points short, he threw for 6 TDs.

After the game, Burrow said: "Worst day of my life. Not much more to be said," but it sure didn't look like it to anyone who watched that game.

Burrow is a competitor, is smart, and has his head screwed on right. He'll be fine no matter what comes his way.

And you may be right, it's possible that Miami's D and LSU new OLine may result in a game simliar to what JT Barrett had his first game against VaTech in 2014, but after that, JT improved, the OLine improved, and by the end of the year, the 2014 Buckeyes had improved to the most efficient offense in the country and won it all.

By the way, I think you are selling Burrow short, he can make the right reads under pressure and get the ball to the check receiver without throwing INTs like Barrett did in his debut.

Lolz

Maybe he shouldn't play QB for a Div 1 football team?
