Game comes out tomorrow for all major consoles and PC. They announced a couple of weeks ago that it has 2 player online co-op and 4-player local co-op, which I'm pretty pumped about. Anyone a fan of the originals and looking forward to this?
It's currently sitting in the low 80's on Metacritic.

And for anyone who likes SOR, you should definitely hunt down Streets of Rage Remake, which is essentially an unofficial Streets of Rage 4 that combines the 3 previous games into one massive, branching story.

Brawl brothers on the snes was a favorite of mine. This genre kind of died when the n64 and oh PlayStation were released.

Don't like that art style.
quote:That looks neat but it seems more akin to something like Devil May Cry or the original God of War games, a totally different itch than co-op side scrolling beat-em-ups.
As far as beat em ups go, I'm more looking forward to the new Fist of the North Star

Brawl brothers
I liked SOR specially because there seemed to be a little more depth than most beat-em-ups of that era. You could (kind of) tech out of throws, execute rear attacks for enemies sneaking up on you, and use a 3 different types of special moves, one of which was based off of a fairly simple controller input like a traditional fighting game. SOR 3 even introduced "upgrades" for your special move if you racked up enough points without dying.
Also, the soundtracks for those games are top notch. Curious to see what they do with the music for this new entry because that was such a big part of the enjoyment for the original 3.

I would have preferred pixel art, but it's still great to see the SoR series revived.
My Bare Knuckles are ready.

Oh hell yes. Loved these games.

I like what I'm seeing so far, though I can at least understand why some want it to be more like Sonic Mania, with an updated pixel art style. However, the above mentioned SOR Remake meets that need for me.

Loved Streets of Rage when I was kid. Looks cool. Reminds me of Double Dragon Neon which I really enjoyed a few year back.

Picked it up on game pass. Shame it only supports 2 players for online coop rather than the maximum 4.
Played a level or two. Seems to be a competent brawler. Some strategy involved with some of the enemy types. Was having trouble with shield dudes but I admittedly haven’t read the fighting tips yet.

Just got to the shield guards. Get two or three punches in, then just before the guard attacks you, use your Defensive Special (Triangle or Y button while standing still). Enemies can’t hurt you during this attack.

I read the op and clicked the link. Then scrolled down and saw I posted two years ago. I was like wtf?
