Maybe so. I keep thinking it was TruTigerTail or something like that.

If he went to Mizzou expecting to start this year, he isn't smart enough to be at Harvard. Drew Lock is a potential number 1 overall pick and is almost assuredly a first rounder.

These hardly assure acceptance at any Ivy league school.
Besides everything about Scott has been exaggerated in connection with his credentials from his GPA to his height.
If he was smart enough to get in and didn't go, he was never smart enough to begin with...

Who was the poster here who claimed until he was blue in the face that Scott didn’t get an equal opportunity?
The kid claimed the coaches didn't give GOAT LSJ a chance to compete.
He's one of the board's Nut Butter Cheerleader MA's that's not to be taken seriously.

How many kids are going to turn down an SEC offer for a Great Education but a horrible team
Kids who see the big picture and have parents that see the same; however, it's not all that common for an elite football prospect also to have an opportunity to go to an Ivy. It's hard enough to be able to go there in the first place. However, it happened this year. Brevin White was a 4 star QB who chose Princeton over an offer from Alabama.

All of those things are nice. At the end of the day, there’s a greater payoff from Princeton and all of the Ivies if you apply yourself and work hard because they do offer a once-in-a-lifetime experience, just in a different way than the bigger universities."

Technically they don't. But the do provide preferred enrollment for athletes and then they give them "grant and aid" up the wazoo until school is basically paid for.
Correct. There are no "athletic scholarships" but almost all athletes receive "financial aid." I guess it makes them feel better about themselves?
Anyways, back to the point -- yes, Scott should have gone to Harvard.

He's too small and not very good at QB. Very similar to Paul Turner. But, Turner was wise enough to move to WR and had a decent career at Tech.

Yea I remember all that nonsense.
Honestly I don’t think he openly said what he really meant in his arguments about his “opportunity”

Mizzou has not released a fall depth chart yet!

Well he got a scholarship offer pretty much last minute because there was one available and no other QB in the class.
It was a good recruiting move in this case.

Sarcasm. He's not 6'2", and likely not 5'11", as stated by Mizzou.
Everything about this kid has been exaggerated by his erstwhile local fans.
There is another thing obviously at play in this thread: The notion that any minority student can get into any school with good grades and test scores. Ain't so.

I remember when he was supposed to be LSU's savior at QB. Good times.

Him being a good high school football player AND being a minority AND being a good student are why people are saying he could have gone almost anywhere he wanted.

And it ain't so.
At least for the top 20 schools (Ivies, Stanford, etc.)

The real tragedy is this kid could be at an Ivy getting a free world class education.
Wouldn’t have been a free education unless it was an academic scholarship.

I’ll admit it. I thought after seeing him lead Zachary to a state title, he would contend for a starting job at LSU. Then, after leading his junior college team to a national title, I thought again he would be a success at the next level. I guess I was wrong.

It’s pretty amazing how terrible Les was at evaluating QBs
Posted on 8/28/18 at 11:49 am to lsufball19
If I had a child that was a high level recruit, I would send them to a high academic institution, if that was an option.
Stanford, Rice, Duke, Northwestern, Etc.

Do you even follow recruiting? We offered scott late in the process after we were spurned by the #1 and #6 pro style QB. #6, Felipe Franks was supposed to be an LSU lock but flipped last minute.
