It's usually hard for me to pick one episode of such a funny show, but The Ski Lodge is far and away my favorite.

LINK

The script, coupled with the physical layout of the lodge, just perfect. Overflowing with double entendres.

quote:

Daphne: Everyone, did you meet Guy, our ski instructor?
Frasier: [shakes hands] Hello, Guy.
Guy: I will also be your chef tonight, Entrecote a la Guy.
Niles: A ski champion and a gourmet — vous étés tres formidable.
Guy: Parlez-vous francais?
Niles: Oui, j'ai habité six mois Paris quand j'étais un étudiant.
Guy: You speak very well.
Annie: Oui!
Frasier: Oh, you speak French as well?
Annie: No, all I know how to say is "oui."
Frasier: [naughtily] Well, that should be enough to get you through the weekend.

I'm doing a full series run-through. Currently almost done with S7. I grew up watching Frasier as a kid, mainly at night while falling asleep, but I never sat down and watched every episode before.

It's quite time consuming but I'm really enjoying it.

A Mid-Winter Night's Dream - S1E17, where Frasier has to come to the "rescue" (read "cockblock") when Niles and Daphne are trapped together on a Dark and Stormy Night(tm).

Not that there weren't about 40 Frasier episodes that were masterpieces, but that one sticks out - David Hyde Pierce was brilliant as Niles and that was one of his best efforts.

Frasier is my go-to show when I just need some background noise. I've probably played through the series 15 times by now.

The scene in the first season when Marty takes Frasier and Niles to his favorite steakhouse and Niles orders his drink...

Niles: "I'll have a Stoli Gibson, on the rocks, with Three, Pearl, Onions."

Frasier (rolling his eyes with his voice): "If you bring him two, if you bring him four, he'll send it back."

Waitress: "And for you?"

Frasier: "The same."

The best episode is when Frasier and Niles buy the restaurant and try to make it super fancy.
All the staff quit on them and miles has to cook.
He is trying to kill the eels.
Daphne does it.
Then they blow the restaurant up with the cherries jubilee.

The one in the last season where Frederick has his bar mitzvah and Frasier wants to say something at the ceremony in Hebrew. He asks Noel for help but Noel ends up giving him the words in Klingon.

The one where Niles fawns over Daphne, Frazier gets made fun of at work, and his father sits in a shitty chair and says something mildly funny about his children’s lack of masculinity.

Another Klingon episode...

quote:

Niles: Oh. I take it you had a whizz-bang time at the karaoke bar?

Frasier: For starters, Woody sang "What Kind Of Fool Am I?" Quickly turned into an audience participation number.
Then Gil and Noel did a charming duet with "Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better." They were both wrong.
I guess the highlight of the evening was when Gil, after one too many Que Royales, performed a haunting rendition of "I Feel Pretty," during the latter verses of which Noel joined him on the apron of the stage and translated... into Klingon.

"Perspectives on Christmas" in Season 5 (the multi-POV one) is, IMO, the best Christmas episode in TV history.

Really loved "Halloween" with Niles' costume party, "Voyage of the Damned" on the cruise, and about 150 other episodes, but the 2 other absolute must watch episodes after the above Christmas one are "A Midwinter Night's Dream" which was mentioned above, and "Mixed Doubles" when Daphne starts dating a guy who looks and acts just like Niles.

Damn, would be a crime to not mention "Dark Victory" with the power outage, "Daphne Hates Sherry" with the heat wave, or the one where Daphne comes back from fat camp.

He does the most amazing thing with his face when Jane Leeves gives that line

"Dr Crane - your Glockenspiel! It's sprung to life!"

Bryan Cranston and Ty Burrell are the only sitcom actors to rival David Hyde Pierce at physical comedy.

The one where Daphne tries to make the dinner for Niles’ art unveiling and ends up having to get Frasier to secretly help while Roz’s daughter ruins the art piece.
