What are y’alls realistic expectations for this year and why? I want to get excited but with the coaching staff it’s hard. I understand we have a great D and outstanding athletes and I’m sure Burrows is a good QB. My prediction is between 6-6 to 8-4 do to strength of schedule and lack of confidence by the coaching staff. Help me change my mine

I would say my prediction but it’s based on optimism, and the fact I want them to do great. I’ll say 9-3. Acctually frick it we’re going 15-0 and winning the title. Burrow wins the heisman, and the defense is the best in the country. I’ll belive it till we play.

You should be excited. You going to see a offense that is actually going to throw the football with a qb that will be very good and a defense that will be nasty. Future looks bright.

It's hard for me to grasp how an LSU fan can't be excited about a new season. I don't know what the hell to expect from this team, but I know in 2 weeks we get to see the Tigers take the field and I'm giddy like a 10 year old on Christmas morning for that.

Realistically the expectation is a 10 win regular season. Best defensive coordinator in the country. Hand picked OC by the head coach to build the offense he's always wanted with a quality transfer QB and superstar skill position players all over the place.

On defense, we have the best LB and CB in the country with what we've been told is a beast of a DL transfer now at nose guard. Add in this transfer all world place kicker that is supposed to win a couple of games for us and there you have it.

The schedule is tough as it always is at LSU. However, there is only one tough true road game and toughest stretch is 3 home home games in a row over 4 weeks and LSU doesn't leave Baton Rouge. Anything short of a NY6 bowl with all of these things going for us is a HUGE disappointment.

The schedule is rough no doubt but I just can't see how this team isnt decent / better with a real qb and a stout d. How is this team not better than the Jordan Jefferson, Jarrett Lee versions when we literally couldn't complete a forward pass.

Anywhere between 8-4 and 11-1 in the regular season

The defense is that good. The offense is a big arse question mark. I think even if we start 1-2 with losses to AU and Miami we improve on offense over the course of the year and finish 8-4 at worst

Anything less than that and they need to start looking for another coach

This is why I am not excited. More nervous about how it could go.

My prediction:

7-5 maybe 8-4 if a few things break our way.

Bama, AU, UGA I think short of those teams completely shitting the bed we lose easily.

Southeastern, LA Tech, Rice, Ole Miss and Arkansas SHOULD be guaranteed wins, though you never know.

State, aTm, Florida, Miami are toss ups.

If we lose to who we should, win the ones we should and take 3 of 4 toss ups, that’s 8-4. Split the toss ups and it’s 7-5

No it would not completely surprise me to win and lose one we shouldn’t but the overall record will be the same... and that’s still not good enough.

We really don’t know this at all.

I mean we think we will be more of a passing team but that’s all based on hope and some vague comments from the coaching staff that might be nothing more than BS

8-4, which isn’t good enough, but I wouldn’t be shocked if they did better. Could be a great season.

I think a realistic prediction is 9-3. Defense is talented enough to win 9 games, and the offense is questionable enough to not win more than 9 games. However a 9-3 season with the right amount of progress and marquee wins is nothing to shake your head at. It gives hope the program is trending upward.

I keep seeing the positive guys saying that this will be the best defense since 2011. They say that we finally got rid of Les Miles and his antiquated offense, we finally have a QB, depth on both lines and a kicker which is supposedly the reason why we lost 2 games last year.

I fail to see how with all of that positive change that 9 wins means we are trending upward from a team that was "being driven into the ground by the last coach" and he won 9 games his last season with one less game played.
