In places like China, Cuba and Burma having a different political stance will get you jailed. In America, we actually respect human rights. Honestly, Trump is doing a great job in comparison to other places.

Obviously, the part where I get other people’s money is very attractive.

These are communist countries, not socialist. Just FYI.
And socialism has failed in every major attempt to implement it. Also, there's a reason the US economy is the strongest in world.... because it doesn't have socialist restrictions.

Trump's doing a terrible job compared to the types of socialism people are actually advocating - like Sweden, or Denmark.
Just like capitalism is shite in places like the Congo or Liberia or Brazil.

Sweden and Denmark have 1/10th the population of the US. Won't work here..

Socialism offers people what appears to be immediate gratification--the promise of free this or free that, or of security from some perceived risk or harm or deprivation.

If you are a loser who doesn't take care of yourself you will love socialism.

Except neither of these countries are socialist...

This doesn't even make sense as a sentence in English, much less from a philosophical standpoint.

The last 15 years of education has pushed socialism and its why we are even talking about it. Most people are used to it.

In its roots, socialism is not communism. I think you need to first separate those two since al three countries you listed are communist and not socialist.
The positives of socialism is protections and support for all groups. In theory it is great, but on its own in practice, it is not.
The goal is to provide everyone with their basic needs and the other needs/luxuries are earned.
The problem occurs when it eliminates capitalism entirely and removes incentives for businesses to develop new technology. This is why Canada and Europe provide very little advancement in medical technologies for example. They just ride the US for that.
This is a simplified view but socialistic principles have some merit when mixed with capitalistic ones. Welfare is not socialism in realty. Socialism is based on all able persons working in the society. Welfare in the US is counter to that.

Socialism appeals to the lazy and unmotivated who are incapable of taking care of themselves, so it creates a society that is lazy and unmotivated. It will always end up in failure.
