If you work for a living, then socialism isn’t for you. But if you vote for a living (basically a lazy lethargic parasitic waste of life) then socialism is great!

Depends on if we're discussing theory or reality.

In theory I could wholly support and live in a socialist society. If everyone worked and contributed then I would gladly contribute more just to ensure that everyone's needs were met. I could never support government oversight of social programs. Bureaucracy ruins everything

But we live in a real world and those ideals don't exist

This isn't even remotely true. There are plenty of rich people in socialist countries.

Socialism simply does away with a middle class, and if you aren't rich you're dirt poor.

It’s a generalization. Everyone = the public, not the elite who run shite.

Neither is socialist and both are less than 5% of the size of the US.

Really? These are the countries you try to compare the US to?

Two African nations with limited resources and parts of which are completely unindustrialized? And Brazil, the second most corrupt country in South America?

Good god, you've got to better than that.

There are more people is New York City than the entire country of Denmark.

Only 1 mil more in Sweden than NYC.

To suggest the system that works with that small of a population would work in the US is just stupid.

Lefties who throw this type of shite out there need to do more research and understand what they are advocating for.

Come on, man.

Have you seen Venezuela? Why would anyone not want that?

China, Nazi Germany, USSR...all shining beacons of socialism the left wants us all to experience.

Trump's doing a terrible job compared to the types of socialism people are actually advocating - like Sweden, or Denmark.

What is the population of Sweden and Denmark? What is the size of those countries?

What is the population of the US? What is the size of the US?

What is the demographic makeup of Sweden and Denmark?

What is the demographic makeup of the US?

The answer as to why socialist policies work in Sweden and Denmark, but not the US can be found be answering the above questions.

Which of course you won't do.

Can you be any more racist?

Plus the United States provides Whitelandia's military protection, allowing them to play Commie footsie.

And they have a really weird culture over there. They look down on people who stand out and above the rest. They self shame each other into mediocracy out of fear of being “too successful”

Jantelagen. Loosely translated into English as “the way of the beta male”

This is basically their 10 commandments of personal ideals
quote:

The ten rules state:
You're not to think you are anything special
You're not to think you are as good as we are.
You're not to think you are smarter than we are.
You're not to imagine yourself better than we are.
You're not to think you know more than we do.
You're not to think you are more important than we are.
You're not to think you are good at anything.
You're not to laugh at us.
You're not to think anyone cares about you.
You're not to think you can teach us anything.

Nothing.

So, can we stop having another iteration of the same, stupid-arsed thread EVERY SINGLE DAY?

If Socialism ever becomes a reality in the USA we'll all fall into the 2nd category of vote for a living and none of us will work. I know for damned sure if Socialism comes about, my arse is planted in a recliner with my hand out for my free stuff. At most I'll show up to work then go head back out to the lines to wait on my free stuff.

You’ll be one of the first to die then.

Work. Or die. Those are your options.

Well, in the case of Russian gulags (labor camps for those in Rio Linda), it was oftentimes work yourself to death.

These are communist countries, not socialist. Just FYI.

This is a very important distinction. While Socialism and Communism are very intertwined and codependent, they are not the same.

SOCIALISM is a Political concept. It involves, to a greater or lesser extent, the Governmental control of society. You can only do what the Government allows you to do, or makes you do. It is an Authoritarian/Despotic form of Government. Hitler hated Communism but loved Socialism.

COMMUNISM is an Economic concept. There is no Personal Property. The Government/Society owns everything and you are allotted what you need. The Government "provides" everything for you "free", but you are not allowed to have or obtain anything on your own. Think of the Communes of the 1960's, also all the Monasteries of Europe of the Middle Ages were all communist (note the small "c", people too often think of the USSR when you say "Communism")

It is hard to have a true Communist country without a strong Socialist government to control the people so that everyone works as hard as they can to provide for the government and the people get only what they need.

You can have a Socialist country that isn't Communist. Think NAZI Germany. You could have private property and have your own business, it was just the the Government told you what you have to manufacture, or what you could charge for it.
