Before Leonard Fournette, Tyrann Mathieu, and Patrick Petterson became Tigers, Ali Highsmith began the streak of playmakers wearing #7.
He has been forgotten by not only the fans, but the school as well.
Image from LSU's official Twitter:
He has long been forgotten, but he achievements outweigh the success of of his successors at seven.
Ali Highsmith:
BCS national champion (2007)
SEC champion (2007)
First-team All-American (2007)
First-team All-SEC (2007)
Second-team All-SEC (2006)
CAREER
Played in 52 games, starting 38 times ... Started final 28 games of his career ... For career, racked up 260 total tackles, 26 tackles for losses and 11 sacks ... Also added three fumble recoveries, 13 PBUs and an interception ... Key member of an LSU defense that ranked among the top five in the nation in total defense from 2005-07.

I don’t think you can call yourself an LSU fan if you’ve forgotten about Highsmith

I’ve always associated Ali with #7.
None of the others come to mind.
The dude wrecked shite.

Forgotten? You talking about the guy who actually started the number 7 “tradition”?
Surely, you jest?
Still, have an upvote for your work and strong picture skills.
Edit: I still think Bradie James was better, and I can see D White being the best we’ve had at the position. I was kind of shocked White didn’t get the 7.

We were watching YouTube vidoes this past weekend and the 2007 BCS National Championship game came on. Highsmith was such a beast. Loved that dude.

Also in that vid #24 Harry Coleman a real headhunter at safety then when Chavis moved him to OLB

Trev Faulk and Bradie James were 7-11.
Faulk was a beast in his time at LSU.
