Had our basset hound since my son was in kindergarten and passed away today on his first day of senior year. Never left my side and was often the only company I had during countless late-night work sessions at home. Wife found him lying next to my spot on the sofa.

I don't know how people voluntarily sign up for round two of this.

This is gonna hurt like a motherfricker.

Sorry sport.

That’s all I got.

Good dogs are better than people.

I’ve been there several times and can still shed a tear for each one.

You have years of memories.

Sorry to hear that man. We were lucky to have ours 15 years. Wife took the loss hard. She doesn't want another. Basset hounds are awesome dogs. Keep the good memories.

Am I heartless? I’ve never had a personal attachment to any dog I’ve owned both as a child and an adult. Sorry for your loss.

1st. Sorry for your loss
2nd. How awesome where those 13 years? Wouldn’t 13 more be equally as awesome?
