Every weekend I go to my boys' events, run into other parents and we start small talking. Inevitably, "what do you having going on the rest of the weekend?" question is asked of me. I'll reply with church on Sunday morning and get a double take. These parents ask do you believe in god? and act they they are too smart or cool to believe in anything after death.

When people who believe in God kept saying "hip" after everybody else moved on.

Personally, I think it's just becoming more acceptable to admit it.

People are sheep and most of them are being led away very easily, but it’s not like we didn’t know this would happen. This whole world is divided on race, but I think the next big war will be Against people who believe in god.

When people realized organized religion is just another way for the masses to be controlled.

That's weird. When I go to my boys' events on Saturdays I always say "See ya in church tomorrow." Your kids play sports with heathens.

I’m a non-believer myself, but find very few groups other than atheists to be more obnoxious. IRL, very few people know I’m an atheist. They’re(we’re) the vegans of the minority group world. It annoys me, if someone finds comfort in a higher power, that’s wonderful they can find that solace. I’m not fortunate enough to though. And that’s ok.

If you’re secure in what it is that you do or do not believe, then why do you care?

I am agnostic but I for one don't believe half the people in the world truly believe in god and only use it as decoration.

I did a lot of work for white woman in the dallas area over the past few years. Every time we'd enter a house, we wuld not they had the same thing. A wall of crosses. "Christian sayings" on the walls, etc. You would think they would be nice christian woman but nope...most were raging bitches who harassed my workers or would make ever excuse not to pay.

I think the widespread use of the Internet is mostly to blame here. A lot of kids would have hundreds of questions to ask, but only their elders would be available to ask. Nowadays it's much easier to get a good, quick answer from the Internet. The Internet not only can provide answers to practically any conceivable question within reason, it can provide viewpoints from a countless population.

A kid in the 90s could only ask "is God real?" from so many people, and an overwhelming majority of the answers would be "Duh!"

Today, a kid could google "is God real?" and get a few different answers.

As a non believer myself, it is pretty disappointing that seemingly a majority of other non believers choose to waste judgement on those who do believe. As long as no one is being hurt or anyone's rights are violated, it shouldn't matter what others believe. And frankly the prospect of an afterlife is a lot more comforting than what we believe in; no need to bum anyone else out.

I go to events all the time and mention, if asked that I attend church on Sunday and not once have I had anyone give me a double take and ask me if I believe in god.

Never.
