Paris over Thanksgiving break...

Too cold? I like the idea of decreased crowds. Wife's pushing Disney, I'd rather take the fam out of the country.

Paris. Foodwise, late fall, winter is booming with delicious things to eat like oysters and the hearty foods you can eat without being overcome by heat stroke.
It probably wont be any colder than say New York at that time of year (and will depend on specific weekly weather pattern). If, and this is a big if, its up and running by then, the French build an ice skating rink on the mid level of the Eiffel Tower. I always recommend that as an experience if you are going to be in Paris over winter season. Such a cool experience.

I don't care if they have a blizzard, I would take Paris over Disney.

I've been to Paris during Thanksgiving. Yes, it is pretty cool, but honestly I did not consider it to be too bad. We needed coats at night, during the day I just needed a sweater or sports coat, sometimes a hat. We did everything we would have done if hadn't been cool.
The decrease in tourist crowds was a real plus. Everything was still pretty packed, I can't imagine it in June.

Paris or Disney? Duh. Paris will be wonderful....while dusk will fall early, you'll get to walk around at night and enjoy the city in lights.
Weather will be cool and likely on the gray side, but who cares? You won't be competing with stupid crowds like in spring or summer, and you can eat your fill of lush, fatty foods. Markets will be full of fall produce (apples, etc).
How many kids/what ages? The sailboat pond in the Jardin du Luxembourg is great, simple fun for little ones.
If the kids are older and into US history at all, renting a car and taking a 2-3 day side trip to the D-Day beaches is a nice change from an all-city trip.
(I'm still scratching my head, trying to figure out who would prefer Disney on a holiday week over Paris.)
ETA: I like London at that time of year as well...

Never thought about the food being different than for our summer visits, that's intriguing.

I've been in Paris in late November and it is fantastic.

Oh absolutely. In Europe things are much more seasonal than here, as they tend to go with local producers as much as possible, and follow traditions. Obviously, that is changing.

With direct flights from MSY it looks like a day/night in London will book end our Paris trip. Train between...

FYI British Airways allows you to add people to a “household” miles account, so you can pool your whole family’s earned miles. It’s a nice way to rack up a quick RT award ticket toward a future vacation.

Screw going to Disney on a holiday week, and I'm not a typical Disney hater by any means.
For the most part, London and Paris don't get miserably cold. Sure it will be light jacket weather. But for those of us that live in the south, I enjoy light jacket vacations.

Did London thanksgiving week
One of the best weeks ever - no tourists - weather was not too bad - as previous poster stated - sweater in day and coat for evening

It will probably be gray, somewhat cold, and damp.
Think English Winter.

I’ve been to Paris during Thanksgiving. I don’t remember being bothered by the weather and I hate cold weather.
