We have a jump on a ton of programs with 1st year head coaches. If we can’t win now we’re screwed with recruiting bc those coaches will get their guys in.

yup.

LSU should win all 4 of its non-conference games, and all 5 games against coaches in year 1. that leaves @aub UGA BAMA. win one of those and thats 10-2.

Whats at stake is keeping our place in the national and conference pecking order of besides a select few other schools we have a complete program. Talent, support, and resources are all there to have a contender.

This is the proving year for O, if he wins 10 games regardless that will be a success. If its 9 or 8 wins it just depends on who we beat and how we look. If we win 9 and upset somebody like a UGA or Bama but drop a game to a team we shouldnt lose to atleast it will show progress.

Only a handful of other schools where 3 second round picks and a third rounder constitutes an off year for Tigers moving on to the NFL level. Do I think a lot of the guys drafted last year out play there slots yeah but guys were not drafted as high, our recruiting class ranking was not as high and we lost out at the end on some major long time targets, and most importantly our true record and level of play seemed to go down even though we did get better as the year progressed.

New OC same QB questions and since Miles, we have the talent but our program's reputation will drop which will have lasting effects program wide. Last year still felt like sort of a grace period for O, no reasons now, his OC, handpicked QB, major D-1 transfers at key positions of need and multiple staff changes, now or never.

Respect for LSU and to establish ourselves as a contender and not a pretender every year.

I'm not sure that's really possible. He can keep his job with a 7-8 win season but he's not going to magically be a respected head coach without showing he can bring our program back to a place of prominence by taking a step forward this year.

OK.. I can agree with this.. BUT he did take LSU to A NYD bowl game last year..... And was 6-2 in the SEC[which was down last year]. Yet its NOT O's fault those teams sucked and fired their coaches....

Nobody likes this guy as the LSU head coach.. Oh well... What kind of statement does he need to make ????? BTW SPOILED MUCH??????

If he goes 10-2 and beats either Bama or GA, but preferably Bama and then wins bowl game(11-2). I think that may sell players that he has what it takes to win championships if they get on board. Gonna be hard to do though with the schedule.

I love how the spoiled moniker has suddenly become some sort of pejorative description. How dare you people demand excellence? Lol. Troy is a good team.

Welcome to the O era.

You wanted Hootie Jones over Jamal Adams?

You don't like Joe Burrow, Breiden Fehoko, Jonathon Giles, Thaddeus Moss or Cole Tracy?

Locking down the state gets you players like Brandon Harris as your starting quarterback.

Agreed. Any time one points out anything factual about O’s horrible resume and performance, the knitting circle O sycophants break out in hysterics.
