Some bold predictions here.
It is likely that some type of tropical event will impact the gulf coast this year.
No shite.

It was more of a fierce storm than the Miami Hurricanes were for sure. Lol. . Look and see where the big golden orb weavers and banana spiders are making their webs in week or so in the swamps etc.
If they are a foot or two higher than normal then we may not be out of woods yet

Sorry, I thought my buddies and I were just getting old. Prayers sent to the people in PC area. Hopefully property lose hurricane only One of my buddies just bought a really nice condo in PCB last month. Great timing huh.
If you like oysters you should buy them now. That is where most of them come from. (Apalachicola Area. )I doubt any come out of there for a few weeks. Not sure how this storm will impact the beds, but the oyster houses are likely screwed, damn sure no power for few weeks.

Those old guys just know stuff. We lose so much knowledge from generation to generation that just doesn’t get passed down.
I remember years ago they couldn’t exactly figure out why they painted all the porch roofs light blue of all the plantations in Natchez until someone showed that spiders would not build webs under that color blue.

Across the South, the tradition of painting ceilings blue is passed down from generation to generation. In the Deep South, a darker blue sometimes called “haint blue” is believed by some to keep away evil spirits.

Yeah, it’s passed down but people forget the reason for it
Posted on 10/11/18 at 12:51 am to TutHillTiger
Spiders ain't shite. It's them haints that will get you. An old timer should know this

the reason porch ceilings are painted "sky blue" is to fool wasp and mud dobbers from building nests, both will build nests in areas protected from weather, the color creates the perception of open sky...

if this is the knowledge i get when i get old i'm fricked.

not sure if serious, the knowledge you acquire comes from 2 sources;
a) the knowledge and experiences of past generations
b) the knowledge and experiences of one's own life
you seem incapable of appreciating and closed minded to the benefit of either option above and are doomed to repeat the same mistakes, I am sad for you and your offspring, however natural selection will take care of that one way or the other...

Screw blue ceilings, I’d bet 99% of the US wouldn’t know how to keep meat fr spoiling longer than 8 hrs without electricity.
I used to quiz the hell out of my grandma before she passed on all sorts of things they did when she grew up in the Great Depression.

i am truly sorry and worried for you, for you to feel compelled to ask that question with the power of the internet in the palm of your hand is pathetic and just lazy, it took you more time to think of and type in that response than it would have taken to google the question given to you by OB, "how to preserve meat without refrigeration", rather than giving you a fish there is a lesson in how to fish, use it...

I've got a yeti meat will keep a year
