Wait, I was told that there would never be a push to normalize pedophilia during all the ghey marriage talk...

In high school I once worked with a guy that had reportedly abused his own minor children. I am pretty sure he was an evil psychopath, but some small part of me wondered what would have driven him to do such a heinous act. He also came across as one of those guys that might shoot up a workplace or be a serial killer, so I just pretty much kept my distance. Maybe he was abused as a child or had other issues. It doesn't really matter either way, the punishment should be severe for such depraved acts.

Here is the thing about the whole age of consent. If a minor can give consent with another minor, then logically there is no substantive difference between a minor giving consent to a non-minor. We are already establishing that minors are capable of giving consent. That is what their twisted case will be built on, and it will grow in voice over the next 20 years.

This might be a fluke, or it might be the start of normalizing it. If it’s the latter, get ready to see a pedo on every hit TV show for the next 20 years, as the hip funny neighbor on sitcoms or the tortured soul on dramas.

I got downvoted and ridiculed in one of the trans threads a few years ago for suggesting this is where the left was heading.

I really really really don't give a shite if this is true or not. It has no bearing on if I want to kill you if you touch a child.

Insane people used to be locked up. We need to start that again.

Can we use the process of mentally diagnosing people who should be locked up to also decide who should or should not be able to own a gun?

If somebody is too mentally unstable for freedom of movement, you think they would let that person have a gun?

What an odd concession to ask for. . .

. . .but ok

I hate to say you are right but you are, they will twist and turn every thing in order to get the next depraved behavior accepted into "mainstream"...

Ultimately, that is what it all boils down to... many in this country were tricked into accepting depraved behavior as "common"...

As I’ve gotten older for instance I find thicker girls with more generous butt and thighs much more attractive whereas slim girls barely move the needle. I would have been literally repulsed by this in high school and college however.
Also as I’ve aged I’ve somewhat trained myself to not be attracted to young females in the 18-25ish range due to not wanting to be creepy and because, quite frankly, what’s the point. Most now seem very immature and while beautiful, not compatible on a sexual level
I don't think you've trained yourself, it just happens naturally. Thin gets to be old hat when you're in your teens and twenties. People enjoy variety so those chunky bottoms start swaying side to side like fishing lures. I had a fiance before my wife who was curvy with a small waist. Dat arse was nice. My wife teases me saying I prefer that arse to her thinness. At times, I miss it. I see women my age putting on more feminine curves and it interests me.

You are a poor student of history...

You are right that some want to “treat it as such”
You lack greater insight as to what that means...

In response to my question, best by what measure
quote:

Almost every important measure that exists.

I asked you for a couple of measures to base your case on, and your answer is "all of the important ones". That isn't even a valid response. Come up with actual objective measures.

Here are my measures by which I see our society in real trouble...

Male working-age labor-force participation is at Depression-era lows.

Opioid abuse is widespread.

Almost half of all children are born out of wedlock, and even more are raised by single mothers. Most modern studies show worse outcomes for kids from single parent families - this isn't disputed even from liberal leaning sources.

If you grew up in the 1980s you would know that what is common on TV today would have shocked families in the 1980s. Our culture now says if you don't accept whatever someone is into, it makes you a bigot... unless that person is taking a moral stance... then they are fair game for ridicule.

The combination of increased suicide and overdose rates related to drug and alcohol has actually moved the needle and decreased US life expectancy for the first time since the 1960s.

Atlantic on Decrease in US Life Expectancy

You may have other objective measures to quantify how it is better than the 1980s, but you need to actually provide some instead of coming with "all of them".

That's the nicest thing anyone has said to me here.

I have many conservative views,I just don't like trump as our president.

I'll vote for whoever the gop puts up against him.

The left has moved too far left for my liking...

I recall the first time I ever heard of NAMBLA I got sick to my stomach.

The TED speaker may be correct in saying pedophilia is an unchangeable orientation, but if it is, I don't want young males (especially those who aren't oriented that way) subjected to such attentions.

If we have to lock these people up or chemically castrate them, it's a sad choice, but we need to make it.
