They are just using whatever tools they have at their disposal. Fear and mockery are two of the most visceral stimulus humans encounter and are almost guaranteed to get a response.
Mock Romney for his caution regarding Russia in 2012 and then use fear to suggest Trump is too cozy with them. Their ultimate goal is the same, divide and conquer.

Is MUH Russians just a smoke screen to hide FBI, CIA and DOJ crimes and save the reputations of those institutions? Or is it something bigger than the reputations of the FBI, CIA and DOJ being hidden?

I think it has everything to do with the Uranium 1 deal; its corruption all the way to the top of the executive branch(money). Also U1 was conspiracy to empower them globally.

It's bad, looks like they have all been corrupted by the dems and rino's, just like the media. Wikileaks showed us how corrupt it is and I have no doubt that the IRS, FBI, DOJ, etc are all corrupt. They can't let that cat out of the bag or they think all hell will break loose in our country.
I'm for Trump shining the light on all these agencies and having some mass firings, including the firings in the election.
All those people in Washington are so out of touch with the common man, the media and politicians sound like they are living in a different country from me. Trump is the MAN for causing all this to come to a head!!

Many Republicans are in the same boat. They have fooled the American people for years and built themselves a fiefdom in DC without actually doing shite to help the very people who elected them. Trump was the direct result of GOP voters waking up and saying "frick this" there is hope though. While we may not like that Democrat voters are eschewing established lifers in Congress for socialists like the nut in New York, we should at least be thankful that they are finally waking up and asking questions like "Senator Feinstein you've been a Senator since the Great War, what have you done for US?"
And the "Deep State" saw this coming 2 years ago and panicked, and they have done everything they can to stop people from waking up and seeing who the real enemy of the people is.

Y'all need to check with the people setting the right wing talking points. The other day it was that Democrats wanted war with Russia. During the election it was that Hillary was too much of a hard liner, leading to possible war with Russia. Now it is that Democrats are too soft on Russia.
