This reminds me of how it used to be in reverse back when the national league had all the future Holl of Famers every year and the American League was just there.

Which is why having the fans pick is stupid.

I think they did a pretty good job, I just think in general fans picking these games is dumb.

Yeesh, the defensive metrics are killing him. I know he's not a plus defender, but fangraphs already has him at negative 8.6 runs.

Baez & Freeman have similar numbers. Give me Baez position scarcity & baserunning, he is your mvp right now

I’m not really seeing that much similarity in numbers between Baez & Freeman. Freeman has him by 78 points in OBP & 55 points in OPS. In the counting numbers they’re about even. As far as scarcity goes Scooter & Ozzie are right there with him @ 2B.

Harper is hitting .219

I get that BA isn’t end all, be all...but it’s till an important number.
it really isn't. What's important are the on base and power numbers. Harper has been decently above average in both

Moreland over Yuli is dumb to me.

Their batting numbers are similar but Yuli has a higher WAR.

frick the Red Sox.

I know it's really close btw.

The one player per team rule is the real bad part about the MLB ASG. I assume that’s the only way J.A. Happ made it

Absolute shame for someone like Snell that he gets in over him because of that BS

Harper 8th in wRC+ among NL outfielders. Still a good offensive player, but not really deserving of starting. No problem with it though considering it is for entertainment and in DC. Not like he has been sub replacement level.

Joey Votto over Jesus Aguilar is absolutely embarrassing.

Also JA Happ over James Paxton or Blake Snell is completely retarded. I know I know every team needs to be represented, but it's bull shite Snell and Paxton who are two of the better pitchers in baseball this year, yet likely won't make it cuz they had to have JA Happ. That's the only part I don't like about all of this.

american league lineup will be pretty awesome. betts and altuve at the top probably interchangeable. i'll guess they put betts in left just because he's a better fielder and judge is probably more comfortable in right.

betts lf
altuve 2b
trout cf
martinez dh
judge rf
machado ss
ramirez 3b
abreu 1b
ramos c

verlander pitches sunday so he's out of consideration, therefore i'd guess severino will start the game.

Don’t think he does. Moreland’s numbers are better pretty much across the board also.

Stars
We suspect you are trolling.

Baseball is the only game that does not change at all for all star game.

Troll or dunce. Some of that.
