Saban and Hurts weren’t doing shite against UGA last year in the first half.

What did Saban do?

Saban was put in a very similar situation in this last NC and did win that game by doing the exact thing Les would not. He sat his starting QB for his next in line which shifted the game completely. Heard from friends who have spoken to players about that game and Les was stubborn as a mule. His continued hard headed game plan is why he isn't the coach today.

We had NO plan to counter Bama, none. We had no ability to flex to a different set/option on OFF. We kept slamming the ball into a wall. We were totally out prepared and out coached on the biggest stage in CFB.

We went into halftime down 9, our D was playing well. A reasonable person could still think that with some minor adjustments(like the first game) we could come back and win.

He was wrong, as football coaches are....Jefferson v Lee is a dumb debate, Lee and Jefferson were damn near identical passers. Except one had shown the propensity to lose it on one throw.

People forget how it was still a two score game into the fourth and just remember the best down statistically

Jefferson/Lee is not a dumb debate. After Lee threw 2 interceptions vs Bama that year Miles benched Lee and Jefferson came out and ran some option which Bama was unprepared for and LSU won the game.

In this past NC game, Saban benched Hurts for Tua when Hurts was struggling. Tua had not started a game all year but Saban knew more of the same would get him beat so he took the chance. At least if he had lost he had tried everything. What happened with Les? He never tried. That is the point.

More than likely Saban pulled hurts because he wasn’t executing correctly.

That's not what I'm saying at all.

And what I am saying, is that Lee crashed and burned in the first Alabama game both physically and mentally. He was a shell of the QB after that game and after the move to number two. The Alabama defense had our most mobile QB spending more time trying to escape than looking downfield. They had our RBs being hit in our backfield or close to the line. I am not sure what this other game plan could have been, but that is on Les.

LSU didn't win games because of its QB play that season. Well, JJ's ability to run the option in the November game was as close as it got to QB play winning a game, but we all know Alabama shot itself in the foot a lot in that game.

LSU won due to a special teams play that was outstanding most of the season, but not in the NCG. We won due to a rush that was over powering, but not in the NCG. We won due to a defense that was stout and played well even in the NCG.

Alabama beat us in every phase of the game both between the lines and on the side lines. The loss falls directly on the shoulders of the coaching staff as all loses do.

Because he got severely outcoached and robbed that team of it's rightful legacy.

That stubborn attitude is what got his arse canned, so now all he can do is take shots from the sideline.

He wouldn't change the flipping shitty quarterback! Saban did the obvious thing this last championship, and it worked. Les does it on 1/9/12, and who knows how history changes?

Saban is a smart coach. He learned his lesson by watching what Miles did against him in 2012. It's stark.

Would Lee have made a difference, perhaps, perhaps not. However his introduction and the requisite offensive changes to fit his skills, MAY have given the AlaBama defense something to react to. It makes them adjust, and juuuuuuuuust maybe, have an off series that maaaaaaaaay allow LSU to score.

A score, ANY score by LSU in that game would have changed the entire complexion of the game. It would have given the defense a longer breather, a defense that played lights out, we all forget, they held the Tide to five field goals and only gave up one touchdown, close to the end.

That defense didn't deserve the shite sandwich the offense handed it.

The one is really simple. You know what Saban did during the title game in 2018 with the QB's that Miles did not do during the the Jan 2012 game? That's why.

63rd in third down conversions
66 in first downs
74th in punting

Please, for the love of god, this is over 6 years ago.....let it go.

There’s not a subject in LSU history that hasn’t been discussed as nauseum more than this 1/9 garbage.

It’s done. Finished.

Please see title game last year for how to make half time adjustment. Satans balls are 10 times bigger than Les’. It’s the NC for gods sake you do what it takes to try and win.

Saban benched Hurts for Tua when Hurts was struggling

When Saban was the coach at LSU he once benched Josh Booty in favour of Rohan Davey when the Tigers were trailing big at the half. Saban also benched Marcus Randall in favour of Jamarcus Russell when the Tigers trailed 15-7 with under 2 minutes in the game. In both cases LSU came back to win.

Les Miles had a different approach to crunchtime football. He was no Nick Saban.
