All lanes of US 75, NB and SB, are closed at LBJ. All ramps connecting LBJ to US 75 are also closed to clean up an accident.

Traffic backup is so severe that stuck commuters have exited their vehicles. There have also been reports of fast food workers from nearby restaurants taking orders for drivers trapped in the halted traffic.

Hazmat is at the scene working to clean up a volatile liquid the tanker was reportedly carrying.

It's absolute bullshite how one or two vehicles getting in a messy accident can frick up the travel plans for thousands of people on the road.

This accident happened at the worst possible place too, the High Five.

When someone says BR traffic is the worst I immediately know they don't get out much.

Thanks to all the BR traffic talk on here, I now only stay in Port Allen when traveling westward through BR and need to stop for the night.

This is why I have a motorcycle. Just weave my way thru all that crap. I’ll be getting laid on a back road while sissy boy over there is munching on his Wataburger.

It’s not too bad, but I typically try to avoid if I can.

75 is a complete cluster during rush hour and it's been that way for decades. There was a "nuke 75" bumper sticker popular in the 80's.

Other than that Dallas traffic pales in comparison to Houston and Austin.

Tanker turned over on the High Five about as bad as it can get.

I used to work right there and one day some ole baw leaped to his death from atop the high five, I was bitching at work about how long it was going to take to get home then found out the Baw was my co worker's first cousin.

It’s primarily because society has stopped using Emergency Lanes for what they are intended for.

Anytime someone gets in a fender bender, they throw their cars into Park, call the cops, call their insurance, wait for a wrecker, etc, etc, etc. Blocking / Slowing multiple lanes of traffic.

Instead of pulling into the emergency lane and avoiding any of the consequences of what I described above
