I love sweets so I remember my dentist years ago telling me about xylitol. If I would have only taken him serious
quote:
When Alina Morse was just 7 years old, she asked her dad the million dollar question: “Why can’t we make a healthy lollipop that’s good for my teeth so that I can have candy, and it wouldn’t be bad for me?” Today, at 13 years old, Morse is projected to make around $2 million in profits this year with her company Zollipop
quote:
The ingredients in the products that Zollipop sells include xylitol and erythritol, which Morse described as all-natural sugar-free sweeteners that raise the pH in your mouth and strengthen your tooth enamel.

It probably tastes like cough syrup sweetened with Splenda

Lol, so basically her parents did everything from providing the seed money to doing the research and developing the candy. This isn’t fricking noteworthy at all.

I mean good for her.
But just eat a damn apple.

Really?
I’ve always heard asking the right questions is the best thing to lead towards innovative business. And this girl asked the right question.

So instead of healthy natural sweets like sugar and high fructose corn syrup it’s made out of chemicals? Way to go little girl

quote:Xylitol is extremely toxic to dogs. Even small amounts of xylitol can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), seizures, liver failure or even death in dogs.

Healthy is a relative term.
Here's the wikipedia on Toxicity of Xylitol. (Note: Fatal to your dogs!) While it won't directly kill people, it can cause heart palpitations which could indirectly, in those with heart rhythm disorders, cause serious problems.
But hey, could get hit by a bus while crossing the street too. /shrug

That's fine, but apples aren't lollipops and they don't fight tooth decay.

Ironic she has braces...
Awesome for her, but I bet dad had a lot to do with it as well...
Side note: Maria needs to show more of her lollipops...

Do you know what braces are for? It's not tooth decay
