Literally bought this thing this afternoon. What am I doing wrong? Or do I have a lemon?

The thing starts fine, but cuts off after it runs for a minute or two.

Is it possibly overheating? Or maybe an ignition problem.

Where did you get it from? I returned an Echo trimmer to the store last week because I didn't need it anymore.

It's 50:1. I mixed the little oil thing that came with it with a gallon of gas.

I have an echo that's 4-5 years old and it runs much better with ethanol free gas. That's why I suggested Trufuel.

Mine did the same thing, I had to play with it awhile and get it running before it stayed on

Yep, I went battery. Few things are more aggravating than a two-stroke engine.
