Ethanol gas destroys the carb

I have one of about 3 legit responses and I get downvoted...
Either way, whatever it is.. If it is brand new, it's not suppose to being doing it. If it were older, you might need to replace the filter and clean the engine, etc...
Seriously, overheating would cause it to cut off and if it is running for around the same amount of time, that could be the problem.

Bump the choke up a little from the run position. The run position may not be calibrated accurately.

It's the carburetor. You need to work on the adjustment screw.
Also, remember to use protective eyewear.

Take it back.
We know it runs when fuel gets into the intake.
Could be ignition coil still to early for this to happen.
Reason sounds like carb adjustment and let the account who sold it to you deal with it

How old is the gas?

Where did you get it from? I returned an Echo trimmer to the store last week because I didn't need it anymore.
That's useful.

First things first. Does it have the word "Echo" on it somewhere?

This is not your problem, but my Stihl started losing power and dying during use for no apparent reason. I determined it was the spark arrestor screen, which had become totally clogged. I took it out, cleaned it with mineral spirits, and dropped it when I was drying to reinstall it. After taking the engine housing off, I found it stuck to a strong magnet inside. Got it out, reinstalled it, and next year, when it clogged, I threw the little bastard away. Runs fine ever since. (I do use ethanol-free 89 octane gas and the recommended oil, so it wasn't that.)

this...
I have an echo for 8 years and it has run flawlessly...
run non-ethanol or truefuel in it...

Is it fresh 100% gasoline? Don't use that gas that has ethanol in it.

When all else fails, read the owner's manual.

Check the primer bulb.

This happened to me also with my brand new echo two years ago. Changed the spark plug, worked like a dream.

First question, where did you buy it from? Did the dealer run fuel through it and make sure it was running properly? How old is your fuel? I work on these things. Tip, don't buy from Home Depot/ Lowe's. Their product is sub par to what you will get from a local place. I see very very few problems with echo trimmers, especially the "T" and Pro models.

Take the Echo back and buy a Stihl. Only time my Stihl hasn’t started was due to bad gas.
