Maybe the fuel line in the gas tank is curved up and is above the fuel mix? Make sure the filter is resting in the bottom of the tank.

I had the same exact problem with a brand new echo last year. Brought home and it did exactly what the OP stated. Don’t add quite all of the oil mixture to the gas. This is the problem. I’ve found the best thing to do is run the premix fuel that Home Depot sells. Yes more expensive but it works the best.

Yep, I went battery. Few things are more aggravating than a two-stroke engine




Yep EGO battery powered are the way to go.

This. They sell that shite (or something comparable) on Amazon. Two day free prime delivery of like 6 cans of it. Enough to last a full grass cutting season. Fully mixed, ethanol free, ready to go. Good shite.
