Honest question.

There are some on the board who are incapable of looking at this team objectively. They don't recognize the threat that Miami presents. Will any of these pumpers melt if we were to lose to the Canes?

Personally , I'm going to that game with no expectations. On paper we should be able to beat them, but the coach on the opposite sideline is far superior to ours so I'm not sure how it will play out. I think I'd be disappointed if we lost, but I certainly wouldn't be shocked.

Those who have the highest expectations always crash the hardest.

Works both ways.

I'd imagine lots of people will be upset if we lose, like every time we lose a game. My guess is that people will overreact one way or the other regardless of the outcome. If we win, the narrative will be that we're well on our way to a 12-0 season. Lose and our cap is 7 wins. Of course, the truth is, like always, probably in the middle. It's one of 12 games and is non-conference and the first game of the year.

I am not a pumper, but I am on like month 2 of my pre-melt for the game if you want to join me.

Last I checked we were 3 point under dogs. Would not be a surprise if we lose.

The few blind Orgeron supporters will never melt if LSU loses. They have a list of excuses built in to blame someone/something else should LSU lose.

Sad type of fan. You should expect to win every game. Our players should expect to win every game. If we lose, we move on to the next hurdle. It's not life ending or some reason to melt. At the end of the day it's just a game.

Regardless of the threat Miami poses, Orgeron CANNOT lose this game if he hopes to retain the small amount of confidence this fanbase might have in him. Defense is supposed to be top notch, exciting (ableit unproven) QB transfer, he has his guy at OC, game in our backyard.

Losing is never good, but this would be a horrible start for Ed.

This term needs to die in a fire...and I say that as one of the most outspoken Orgeron critics on the board.

Hopefully all LSU fans will be upset if the team loses to Miami. Just as hopefully all LSU fans should be excited if the team beats Miami.

Right?

No it doesn’t.

If LSU went 15-0 next year Anti-Os would be pumped, and probably admit they were wrong.

If LSU goes 0-15 O pumpers will tell us 2 years isn’t enough time to “turn around” a program.

We have everything we need. Zero excuse to lose to Miami.

That’s a bit of a hyperbole.

BUT, If LSU makes the SEC championship, the playoffs, AND makes it to the NC game without winning one game, Coach O should get a raise.

Exactly. It's still just one game versus a non conference opponent. Even if they lose, they could go 10-2 and be in the CFP discussion. No need to overreact either way.
